What causes the Detroit syndrome?

Detroit at one time was a hustling, bustling city of prosperity. However, over the years democrats took full control of the city and then drove it into the ground, yet it remains a democrat stronghold.

What causes a populace to continue to vote and support a party that is so destructive to their own citizenry?

In fact, the same could be said for the people of Venezuela who are eating out of garbage cans after voting for socialists. Why are they still socialists?

This is what is terrifying to me in regards to the Left. Will the entire country devolve into Detroit? Will people continue to vote for insane fiscal policy that will destroy them and their communities?

Bill Clinton once famously said, "It's the economy stupid". If the economy is doing poorly, the other party sweeps into power. That has been how things have gone historically EXCETP in places like Detroit. However, if this election that does not happen, should it be assumed that the US will soon become Detroit, or worse?

And yes, the drug culture that moves in typically involves guns and murder.

But the major cities around the country, even in Red States, are dominated by the Democrat party.

The rich fat cat democrats in states that have cities, like Detroit, seem content with letting those cities fall into ruin, just so long as they can isolate themselves from it. They are just fine with the black-on-black genocide going on in the bad neighborhoods they never have to frequent.

Democrats continuing to vote for the same things, hoping for a different result, is similar to me to the cult following of the preacher turned Marxist Jim Jones.

At some point, people leave reason for ideology, for the mere sake of the ideology or for the sake of following a personality. And since the DNC has no one with a good personality, they are left with promoting an ideology.

So what is the ideology? They have created race and gender related ideologies that are being propagated in schools all across the US. I think the goal is to get people fixated on these ideologies so that they will ignore the economic cecotrophy all around them as well as all other issues, much like the followers of Jim Jones who gave up everything they had to give to him as they lived in poverty in the jungles of Central America.

What happened to Detroit was Coleman Young, mayor from 1974 to 1994. Detroit was Motor City home to the major car manufacturers. Young intended to use the City's wealth to make Detroit into a black mecca. As a far left racial advocate he spent the City's money on massive giveaways to poor blacks. City projects were given to black companies which were largely only fronts for graft kicking back to Coleman Young. The city became a cesspool of corruption.

Predictably when citys become lawless whites leave. When whites leave, they take the tax base with them. The spiral down causes decay. Detroit became what it is. Coleman Young started it all.
