what books did you read in childhood?

Lots. But I think my favorite was The Chronicles of Narnia series.

Especially The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. :)

i remember a children's illustrated "mother goose" and the fables af aesop. treasure island and sherlock holmes. tom sawyer and edgat al00len poe.

Too many to list, but I especially enjoyed the science fiction of Robert Heinlein and the fantasies of J.R.R. Tolkein.

To Kill a Mockingbird. I hear it's banned in some places. How sad. Now I think I'll go bust up a chiffarobe. In Alabama. From the mud to the stars.

do yo remember?

Alice in Wonderland?
All of Tolkien. Asimov. Heinlein. E.E. Doc Smith. All of those were under my belt by the time I was 12 or so.

As a child? Charlotte's Web, Pippi Longstocking, Hardy Boys, Dr. Seuss, Curious George.

A little older- Jules Verne, Zane Grey, Tolkein, Heinlein, Asimov, H.G. Wells, Orwell.

Many. For a while I read everything with horses, starting with The Black Stallion.

A teen girl has some paralysis after polio. She plans to get a scholarship by winning a cross country horse race to get an athletic credential. But then the rider who would have probably finished second gets a snakebite so she rides for help instead of finishing the race. I don't remember the title. I keep thinking Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm, but that's a different story.
