Did you grow up during the 60s or 70s? Watch the videos.

Both videos are psychobabble and dead wrong. They are not psychology. I have masters degree in psychology and 30 years experience. Personality is created by experiences with your parents and family. We can have good parents or bad parents. the 60s and 70s are no different.
Today the difference is exposure to media shaping the minds of children. Thats the only difference. Single mothers no father will also damage a childs personality in most cases.
In some ways I agree. While I was listening I thought, they can say these things about any/every generation. Or just pick another thing about that generation that helped you learn how to deal with emotions and blablabla.

BUT, maybe your mom in the 60's stayed at home and mothers in my generation started going to work. So you didn't always have a mother at home.

Seeing divorce is something your generation didn't see a lot of. Childhood pregnancies weren't celebrated like they are today. Gays had to stay in the closet. Serial killers weren't the thing back then. You could hitch hike and feel safe. You didn't have to deal with crack and heroine. I could go on and on.

Women stayed home. A good percentage were very unhappy with that. They gave into the graduate find a mate, have kids wash rinse repeat. Thats fine for those that want thst but we are much better off with less societal pressure on them to do that. Choose your own path not what society tells you to do.
Alcoholism was rampant. Houses were shoddy. Cars were ugly and broke down all the time. People just eeked by. I remember my dad, working long hours. Hed come home. Drink 5 beers, and fall asleep on the couch. There was alot of that.

When your mom worked you were in school.
A 2 parent family is vital in raising emotionally stable children.. The first 6 years is a critical period.
Yes we had drug problems in the 60s. Drug problems relate to trauma.
In divorce we still have 2 parents in the family sharing custody.

The 2 most significant negative issues in child development are the single mother no father and the introduction of android phones exposing children to information they cant assimilate causing anxiety.

I also got a better public school education in the 60s. I did spend 2 years in private school which I hated

I think you are new. They had a race/racism sections here at USMB I think they took it down. But I would tell blacks that although I agree we put them in the situation they are in, they are keeping themselves in it. It's like people are stuck in the ghetto thinking that they can't get out, when they can. And when they have kids when they are kids, they do it to themselves.

No one who is single has any excuse why they can't make it in America. Have a kid when you are 17 in Detroit, you just fucked yourself lady. The guy? Oh he just going to bounce and have as many kids as he can with as many ladies as he can. It's actually become a hip cool thing in black culture. Nick Cannon is the king of this.

And I don't give Elon a pass either. No way he is being a proper father to all those kids. Money don't do it. Right?

America is the best place in the world to be a success.
Musk has autism and lives a strange life.
Black clkture was destroyed by the welfare state

Dude, I'm a liberal and becoming a big fan of yours. You make a lot of sense. I hate you! LOL. You're fairly new to USMB? It feels like Daddy's home.

BUT, I reserve the right to change my mind and argue hard my liberal ideas. But you just shoot them all down. Bastard! Great having you here you sob.

My buddies always say "sealybobo, why do you say you're a liberal" because of the things I do, the way I live my life. I should be a conservative.

Sorry, I grew up in Metro Detroit. Actually lived in DETROIT till I was in 4th grade. And my grandmother never moved from our childhood home. Remember the Jerk? Steve Martin? I was literally born a poor black child. Hilarious. So I moved to the Suburbs and saw white privilege. My mom was pretty liberal. We loved Archie Bunker. We saw what an ignorant bigot he was. But he had a good heart too. Anyways, I grew up where every 3rd house in the subdivision was union auto workers and the other 2 houses were tier 1, 2 or 3 suppliers. Or waitresses or dry cleaners who fed off the Big 3. UNIONS created the greatest middle class the world had ever seen.

You probably didn't belong to a union so you were against them. But that's when America was great. Today, me, you and Elon Musk are doing better without unions sure but is the Middle class? NO!
