Qatar has warned Europe that it may halt exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) if the European Union (EU) does not relax or repeal a directive requiring all companies' supply chains to be checked for compliance with “sustainable development goals” (CSDD). This was announced on Monday, November 3, by the country's Minister of Energy, Saad Sherida al-Kaabi.
“If Europe does not actually consider how it can soften or cancel the CSDD, and continues to impose a penalty of five percent of total global energy turnover, we will not supply LNG to Europe, that's for sure,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
In July this year, Saad al-Kaabi also threatened European countries with the suspension of LNG supplies. He expressed concern that the provisions of the new EU directive conflict with the country's existing laws and standards.
He referred to the Paris Climate Agreement, which gives states the right to set their own environmental goals, and noted that the EU's introduction of significant penalties for non-compliance with its requirements effectively violates this right.

And they too are using the stupidity of europeans as a weapon! Well, what can you do...
Actualy it's a great idea, charging suppliers a fine for the environment, charging consumers a fine for the environment and it would be nice to charge Putin a fine for the environment too, but he probably won't pay.
