Overall Senator Cassidy did alright for his position and the party, except for the part where without Todd or anybody bringing it up, Cassidy reminded nationally that many people view current Trump party leadership as a cult, by offering an unforced denial of something Todd did not suggest.

The "anti-woke party" simply means that you're the party that has no respect for anyone other that rich white men. Promising women you're going to permanently take away their right to control their own lives, or gays that they have to go back into the closet, or non-Christians that they have to follow radical evangelical laws and beliefs, is all that Republicans are promising.

Republicans want to strip all of that away because they want to return to their fantasy of what life was like in the 1950's. That's what Republicans really want. And it's simply not possible.
