Well that did not take long did it (shrug): Jimmy Kimmel in talks with Disney execs to negotiate return of late-night show

I've noticed this is common to all 3 of the late night talk shows. I've made it a policy that I'll watch Fallon until his first remark disparaging Trump. I haven't made it more than five minutes into one of his shows in years. Broken records. They need to branch out and get more material. They are "influencing" themselves right off of the air.
With Kimmel, I couldn't even make it that far....The dude is a shitty "comic" who can't tell jokes, even when they're written for him....He has no stage presence, no timing, no humility, nothing that a guy like Rich Little could mimic and you'd know exactly who he was doing.

The little Mexican dude who was his foil has more comedic talent.

Not watching any late night TV talk shows, I'm a bit ignorant on the matter. Isn't it fairly common though, to use whatever political structure in place as fodder for humor? I get that and can accept it to a degree. But I heard something totally over the top and outrageous from Kimmel some years back that illustrates what pisses me off so much.

It's that kind of shit that makes me #^phrt*(8ack!

The "solution" is ******* obvious. Kimmel must read a statement more or less as follows:

"A few weeks ago I expressed an opinion about the likely motivation and political stance of the person who killed Charlie Kirk. That opinion was offensive to a lot of people, and it was also probably wrong. I should not have expressed that opinion at that time, and to those who were offended, I apologize. I reserve my Constitutional right to mock and/or criticize the President and any other political figure that I want to mock or criticize. They will just have to deal with it."

Done. Crisis averted. Back on the air.

How hard is that?
Nope, I still wouldn't watch that no-talent piece of garbage.

I couldn't even make it five minutes into Millionaire. Kimmel has no talent.

Certainly, and it always has been that way. The difference is when it becomes the over-whelming purpose of the entire show. Anyone who has watched knows there is enough comedy generated by both sides to fill a show. LOL, Trump even dominated during the Biden admin and God knows Biden and the dems created enough comedy gold during those four years to keep the airwaves dominated for decades.

Back in the day, the comics made good natured fun of everyone...Carson and SNL made poked fun at them all.

To my recollection, the political venom started with Letterman going after Dubya Bush for whatever reason...This was long after he ceased being a show to watch every night.

Not that W didn't deserve everything he got, but I get your point and agree. That seems to be the era that the political influencing REALLY started taking hold in the msm.

Yea, that's it, that's the ticket.
Put two hosts on the dais. One Prog Socialist Communist like Jimmy and a Conservative one. Then we can get the smears from all sides. It's time for the broadcast networks to move on.

Wow. Speechless. 🤷‍♀️
Well not speechless not surprised one iota.

I bet a fly on the wall heard the execs telling Jimmy "go easy on Trump he is angry you are roasting him"

I never watched Jimmy, if he returns I am going to make it a point to watch him. :laughing0301:

thoughts and prayers this one works out

Jimmy Kimmel and Disney are in talks to put his late-night show back on the air, according to a report.

The comedian’s businesses and legal representatives are in deep discussions with Disney and ABC, trying to hammer out a compromise that would allow “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to resume its 23rd season, insiders told Vanity Fair.

Whether the sparring parties are close to any resolution is unknown, leaving Kimmel and his show in limbo following offensive comments he made this week about the slaughter of Charlie Kirk.

I imagine they’ll give him a show for half the pay on Disney plus…where he can spread his propaganda for a little. Doubt it will last a season

Jimmy is going to come out looking like a National Hero on this deal.

National Jimmy Kimmel day pencil it in

Haha that’s funny.

Doubtful, cheak out the polling most people don’t care

Even among those that watched these shows is ratings were the worst

Disney is likely thinking of away to make the 19 percent that still approve of your party somewhat happy so they don’t have worry about one of their employees being assassinated
