Weight loss motivation - how life can improve dramatically following successful weight loss

I have to say that when my weight was decreasing I did feel quite a lot better. I was surprised how much better I felt. The problem was that I don't know why I was losing weight. If I knew how and why, I'd do it again because I have gained most of it back again.

I used to be borderline obese. I hated life, was always tired, depressed, no energy and bad anxiety. I hated leaving my house and had no motivation. As i slowly made changes to my diet and training and sleep, i slowly enjoyed lifting weights and feel so much better. My anxiety and depression is literally gone now, something medication never helped with nor therapy. Now that my life improved, I felt I missed out on so much and would like to spread the message on how good exercise and weight loss can be not only for your mental health, but physically, you live longer and have less diseases, more energy to play with kids etc.

It is great that you reached your goals, congratulations. Your little story invoked an emotional response. I definitely dearly miss the gym. It is horrible.when ones life is parayzed, not to mention sudden MS-like symptoms. Exercize and a nice, sane relationship with another human being is great for the soul. I hope we all achieve our health goals. Thanks for sharing

Can you walk?

Can you walk?
Yes. Three times in a week my leg (and arm in one instance), went completely numb. I fell down the a few stairs in my home, luckily I was at the top and leaned back in time or I could have fallen head first.

I'm really scared, I don't have the answers or any control over if and when it will occur. When I walk it is constantly in the back of my mind but I do my best to shut the fear out.

Ii is one of three issues I presume, the worst would be the myelin sheath deterioration of my spine. I am always an optimistic in some corner of my mind because I have overcome so much in life. I always hope for the light to arrive and guide me out of this, to turn a corner.

Sorry to hear about your situation.

I was going to suggest going on a nice long walk every morning but it doesn’t seem like you trust yourself enough to do that.

Maybe try stretching every day and ease into it. A treadmill will have hand grips to stabilize yourself if the numbness pops up.

Just some thoughts. Hope you get to feeling better.

Yeah I really spoke to G-d last night, for a good twenty minutes or so. I can only hope my prayers are not answered.

Two years after HS I met a classmate who was always obese (not just fat...obese). He had to introduce himself to me as I didn't recogize him. He was lean and fit, and had shed the glasses for contacts. In short, he had become a 'chick magnet' in two short years. I could hardly believe my eyes.

I met him again some years later at a class reunion. He had gained all the weight back, had donned the glasses and looked exactly like the old classmate I had known years before. I didn't ask what happened as he seemed happy.
