I am for capitalism too. I don't want to kill kids either.
Stop letting them dictate the conversation to you and start listening for yourself.
They are not on your side.
Trust me I know they aren't. I saw many of these "right wingers" flee during the campaign, **** those losers.
As for you, if you like capitalism and not killing kids, you wont go far on the left or the democrat party, because they hate capitalism and love killing kids (I mean the gov of VA actually said the baby would be born and THEN they would work with parents to decide the kids fate..........I mean how ghoulish do you have to be?)
The democrats are not against capitalism. This is part of what is being fed to you. They are against unregulated capitalism, which we are all for. Again, don't let them change the conversation. You and I have way more in common than you think.
I have no issue with finding common ground. but to make that statement means either one of us is full of shit or there is a miscommunication.
so when I say socialism, it means they want the government to take over private industry and have the government regulate our lives and business
Why do I say the democrats are socialist? they want single payer....that is as socialist as it gets
Also they want the government to regulate everything on earth due to climate change....again abolishing fossil fuels, painting cars black, forcing us to use certain lightbulbs, ect is all socialism. If they were for caplitalism.....they would make their alternatives more attractive and convince us to use them.....but they use the govt to force us to use things we don't want (electric cars, non fossil fuel energy, ect)
I am 100% against socialism as you've defined it above. Most people in this country are. I am for elements of shared responsibility where it makes sense. Ie. I think a fire and police department should be a shared cost by all of us. If my house doesn't burn down, I am not going to complain that I had to pay in towards the fire department but didn't get to see any benefit from that cost. That's the sort of "socialism" I can support.
How that extends to other areas of our lives, ie. healthcare, the environment, light bulbs and the color of our cars...etc....well that's where we need to have the conversation about what makes sense.
But we need to have that conversation and ignore what they tell us about what they want me to believe you stand for and what they want you to believe that I stand for.
Supporting police is not socialist.....the police are an important and actual job of government(the government does way too many things it shouldn't, but police and fire are legit gov abilities).
So to have the conversation....look at healthcare
I don't want the govt anywhere near it.
I think they should have simple and few regulations (say keeping hospitals clean, I'm on board with that one)
But outside of that, they should let people make their own decisions with regards to coverage and insurance.
One thing I like is that Trump wants to remove the restrictions on state boundaries......it's complicated, but in general, states choose which providers they will have and that choice is sometimes mandated by law and they are allowed to limit providers(they should not be allowed to do that)
