Nobel Prize nominations deadline each year is Feb 1st. Obama was inaugurated on Jan 20, 10 days earlier. Which means, his nomination submission had to be started before he was even inaugurated as President. Literally, getting a prize before he showed up for work.
Your own Democrats handed him a "Get out of jail free" card when they started in on saying they had grounds for his impeachment some time before his inauguration.
