More than one decade before blacks were emancipated, Frederick Douglass stood up in front of a crowd of whites one hot 4th of July in Rochester, New York, and gave his "What to the Slave is the Fourth of July" speech. The blacks Republicans put in front of us today would shit their pants if they had to demand the respect Douglass demanded from whites on that day. Black Republicans today have forgotten the great tradition established by great black Republicans of the past like Douglass. They disrespect the work of those black Republicans who are why we are here today.
