Zone1 We need to Return to 1940's Values on Sex Outside Marriage. Desperately.

That's nonsense, and studies appear to show the opposite.
No they don't.
Assumptive studies designed to prove a preconceived idea - of course.
But it would never stand up to even moderate scrutiny.

Relationships fail because of selfishness, and lacking social skills and understanding of someone other than themselves. Generally speaking. Not discounting people who fall victims to abusers.

If it is based on any religion, it is establishment. The fact you don't understand is proof of your religious zealatry.
Even the most diehard atheism would have to admit there is a lot of intersection between Christian laws and "good" laws. School boards could enact classes teaching abstinence and Christian sexual morality without mention of religion.

You have no scientific basis for claming sex outside marriage leads to failed relationships.

Nobody has ever died from not having sex.

I live in the midst of a beautiful small town, chock full of couples who have been married for SEVERAL decades and only had WANTED children.

This is morally so much more acceptable than the left cult who believe that losing their promiscuity privilege would literally kill them.

The sexual values of the 40's did work and do work. Fewer people broke the rules, and fewer people suffered the misery of doing so.
.

I know married people who use Natural Family Planning, which involves abstaining when necessary, and they are perfectly stable people.

I lived through 35 fertile years and never became pregnant.

It does work.

IN Texas and many states there is a legal doctrine called common law marriage, stemming from before Texas was a Republic. People just shacking up could be legally considered married. So, yea, whatever, people were being animals in the 1800s.

I think there is, to a certain extent, in Washington.

My niece had an eight year relationship, and when the boyfriend dumped her in an emotionally devastating way, she was told by an attorney that she might be eligible to sue for half of what he is worth. I don't know why she hasn't pursued this, but she still has at least a year, if we're working with a three year statute of limitations. I'm going to push this when she comes for a two-week visit next month.

Sorry. I meant you have Nno scientific basis for saying premarital sex does not lead to broken relationships.
You can't prove a negative.
But no one would deny that one of the top principle reasons relationships fail is selfishness. And today, I don't think anyone would argue that kids lack social skills due to so much time on social media rather than being in person.
We are redoing the "me generation" all over again. Only worse.
