We Need to Make it Much harder to get a Gun

we have thousands of innocent people dying every week in the mass shootings.
thousands of kids dying all the time from these school shootings.

Guns are too easy to get and must be restricted like automobiles are.
You are an idiot. Automobile purchases are not restricted at all. I could walk into my local car dealer right now with a fist full of hundred-dollar bills and purchase any car on the lot. No driver's license or ID needed; you don't even have to register it unless you want to drive it on public roads. I bought my first car at eighteen, brand new and didn't have a civilian driver's license, I drove it back to base on my military driver's license. The Provost Marshal refused to issue me base tags until I had a civilian license.

Nobody wants to take away guns from responsible owners, but there are way too many irresponsible owners out there, and it is way too easy to get a gun. In some states you can just go to the store or a private sale, or a gun show, and instantly buy one. Online sales are a free for all.

That needs to stop. A Gun license needs to be like a drivers license. We need to track and monitor all guns and sales like cars, and all gun owners just like vehicle owners.

Cars kill if used irresponsibly and we have a whole slew of laws and policies designed to keep people safe from irresponsible drivers.

Guns kill way more than cars and are substantially more dangerous, yet most people can easily get one. That needs to stop, because too many innocent kids die.

They need to close all the major loop holes like private sales, online sales, and hun show sales, and they need to get serious about keeping us safe.

In Florida it is illegal to have a state run gun registry. There is no requirement to have a license to own a firearm and shorty Floridians will be able to carry a concealed weapon without having a license to do so.

The Florida Statutes covers gun registration and lists why the state doesn’t wan to register guns. To see the reasoning why visit this link.

You can have background checks.

Online sales are a free for all.

You should try to buy one right now.
To show how easy it is.

I think you could fairly say online sales ARE a free for all. You can buy pretty much anything you want. HOWEVER, the gun has to be shipped to a licensed dealer who will run a background check and conform to any local waiting periods before giving you your gun.

You asshat anti-gun fools would be more credible if you didn't lie and fabricate so much.

Legal access to firearms isn't as easy or quick as you present.
Illegal access is however very easy, once someone has stolen a firearm from someone else. Easy either for the one doing the theft, or selling such theft to others via illegal channels.

It's clear you have never purchased a firearm via legal means, hence don't know what you are talking about.
I'd wager you also don't know how to handle a firearm safely and not shoot yourself in the process.

BTW, one doesn't need a driver's license to operate a motor vehicle. Any car thief can tell you that. Nor does a driver's license make one operate a motor vehicle responsibly.

Again, an OP filled with lies, distortions, and disinformation does not advance nor make the case you are trying for, only underscores how bogus it and you are.

nope.
The fear is real. Too many innocent people are dying because it is too easy to get guns.
You are trying to act like we don't have thousands of innocent people and kids constantly dying from guns, but we do. Non stop.

If it were harder to get guns, much less innocent people would die. You people just can't admit and accept that so you try and spin bull shit.

Gun owners are extremely selfish and have major blood on their hands.
Gun owners are not selfish, we just oppose being made the scapegoat for things others have done. Like the dumbass parents who knew their teenaged male spawn wasn't wrapped too tight yet bought him a gun. And when they were contacted by teachers because they saw him drawing pictures of someone who had been shot (he played it off by saying he was designing images for a video game) his mother admonished him that he has to take measures to make sure he isn't "caught" doing things like that. Now they have even bigger problems:

Don't confuse lawful and responsible gun owners with those who are not. Or with criminals. Why don't you go hassle them about their guns which they're not supposed to have.

No...we don't.

In 2022, we had 12 mass public shootings...total.

12 people out of over 350 million.

74 killed.

What you are talking about are gang shootings, in democrat party controlled cities where the democrat party has destroyed the ability of police to arrest violent gun criminals, and the ones they actually catch, the democrat party prosecutors, judges and politicians release, over and over again, sometimes on the same day or the same week......

Our problem isn't guns........as we know from actual experience.....our problem is the democrat party and its policies...

How do we know it isn't guns?

You have to explain why gun crime went down, while more people own and now carry guns.......

Over 27 years, from 1993 to the year 2015, we went from 200 million guns in private hands in the 1990s and 4.7 million people carrying guns for self defense in 1997...to close to 400-600 million guns in private hands and over 19.4 million people carrying guns for self defense in 2019 (in 2020 that number is 21.52 million)...guess what happened...

New Concealed Carry Report For 2020: 19.48 Million Permit Holders, 820,000 More Than Last Year despite many states shutting down issuing permits because of the Coronavirus - Crime Prevention Research Center

-- gun murder down 49%

--gun crime down 75%

--violent crime down 72%

Gun Homicide Rate Down 49% Since 1993 Peak; Public Unaware

Compared with 1993, the peak of U.S. gun homicides, the firearm homicide rate was 49% lower in 2010, and there were fewer deaths, even though the nation’s population grew. The victimization rate for other violent crimes with a firearm—assaults, robberies and sex crimes—was 75% lower in 2011 than in 1993. Violent non-fatal crime victimization overall (with or without a firearm) also is down markedly (72%) over two decades.
======

The gun murder and gun suicide rates in the U.S. both remain below their peak levels. There were 6.2 gun murders per 100,000 people in 2020, below the rate of 7.2 recorded in 1974.

This means that access to guns does not create gun crime........

Why do our democrat party controlled cities have gun crime problems?

What changed in 2015?

The democrat party did 3 things...

1) they began a war on the police that forced officers to stop pro active police work, allowing criminals to run wild.

2) they began to release the most violent and dangerous gun offenders over and over again, not matter how many times they had been arrested for gun crimes

3) they used their brown shirts, blm/antifa to burn, loot and murder for 7 months in primarily black neighborhoods while the democrat party mayors ordered the police to stand down and not stop them......in order to hurt Trump during the election.

Unconstitutional.

Unless of course you want to require a classes and licensing fees for ALL rights.

Didn't take your First Amendment class and pay for a Free Speech license oh well you no longer can exercise that right

You want to vote you say? Then you need to pay for a class and pay a license fee.

Owing guns is a right.
A drivers license is a privilege.

Also most gun deaths are suicides followed by hood shootings. You lefties only flip out when there is a school shooting. Nothing that you proposed would have stopped the Nashiville shooting, nothing. Can't you see that?

we are averaging a mass shooting every month or more.

If we had a real gun control in place we could have easily prevented the Nashville shooting because we could have prevented the shooter from buying guns as they would not have passed a rigorous screening process that is clearly needed.

And that same "rigorous screening process" would be used in some places to deny ANYONE a gun.

What would they have been denied on in this case? They had no criminal record, and are you saying anyone who thinks they are not the gender they were born with is crazy enough to ban rights over?
