We can compete with china in manufacturing

You do understand a currency based on debt will implode
That depends on if we can pay our treasury bills when they are retired. Because if we ever fail to do that, the dollar will become practically worthless overnight as everyone tries to dump their dollars. Until then it will be whatever the market will bear (i.e. the supply and demand for US dollars).

I'm not arguing for more debt. I don't think it is sustainable. I just don't know when. The real question is what have you done to protect yourself from it.

and no army is undefeatable, right?
True but there is a distribution of outcomes and I suspect most foreign investors own dollars because they perceive the US as a safe haven because they believe the US to be militarily and economically strong.

You clearly do t understand what inflation is or what causes it.

Because that happened in the early 1920s and it led to a stronger dollar and less inflation so it’s clear you are taking out of your ass.
What do you believe was the primary cause of inflation for the past 25 years in the US?

Managed inflation is a major part of our economy

If you don’t realize that you shouldn’t be talking about it

I think it’s a fundamental economic principle that when the cost of money is low, the price of tangible items inflates.

Maybe try googling it.

Why, you’re gonna claim the source isn’t valid or deny it was said. So no I’m not gonna waste time on you
You aren’t going to provide a link because there isn’t one.

The video points out that we can lower the cost of raw materials in several ways including energy production

And mining

But even if America matches china in the cost of raw materials there is still the issue of labor costs

China pays much less for workers than America pays

The chinese standard of living is lower than ours

Some misguided people here will say that American workers should make less

And/or that we need cheap migrant labor from the 3rd World

But I reject that idea

We need tariffs that close the unfair advantage that china enjoys

So, lower the cost of energy. Oil for example.

By managed inflation you must mean the government’s plan to inflate their way out of debt. That’s a bad plan that won’t work.

Bullshit. It’s what makes the debt affordable… as well as your mortgage

Christ you’re stupid

It’s idiotic and destroys the wealth of older Americans who are mostly on fixed income investments like bonds.

What is it that you have done that makes you believe you are superior?

Do you have a lot of debt?

How about investments? Because people who have lots of debt like low interest rates whereas people with lots of money prefer higher interest rates.

Those older Americans were able to pay off their homes BECAUSE inflation made it affordable

What are you 12?

No. I’m 64 and have three homes that are paid off. You?
