Another aspect of water boarding is that under the beliefs of Islam, as I understand it, if a prisoner is not put under duress, he is held guilty as betraying Islam if he gives up information. I'm sure that if I were 'waterboarded', I could be made to say 'waterboarding' isn't torture. But, I would tell people I was tortured into saying it. Perhaps torture is like pornography; you know it when you see it. If you don't see it, well...
It is still horrible policy for this nation.

Saying torture is o.k. is the kind of thinking that leads to firebombing cities full of civilians to 'win' a war. Such inhumanity destroys the capacity to attain the highest human condition.
