"We", what the **** you mean "we", were you alive during the Civil War? Stupid Yankee. Not only did you ******* Yankees ship damn near all the slaves here, even after the slave trade was banned you Yankees made most of the ******* money.
Nothing pisses me off more than some sanctimonious Yankee talking about how they saved the damn slaves. God damn, they never would have been here is it weren't for you *****. It reveals a stunning lack of historical knowledge. Kentucky was a part of the Union. Was slavery illegal there during the war. NO. Lincoln told Texas, oh, you can keep your slaves, just please, don't join the Confederacy. The Emancipation Proclamation, it freed all the slaves in Confederate controlled territories, did it free the slaves in Union held New Orleans, Uh, NOPE.
The whole Missouri compromise, slave states and free states. It was about not about having slaves, it was about making those new states free of black people. Come to think about, kind of how you Republican dickheads are acting now. It ain't MAGA, it is MAWA, Make America White Again. Your hero Lincoln, he said that immediate emancipation was "reckless". Is idea, ship them all back to Africa, the original MAWA presidential candidate. And there is this country, called Liberia, that exists to this day because of that.
The abolitionist movement, it started with Wm. Loyd Garrison, outside of some early movements, much of it from the Moravian church here in the South. First thing he did, attack the Yankee merchants that were profiting from the slave trades. Ever hear of Sarah and Angelina Grimke? Of course not, daughters of a South Carolina plantation owner, they were instrumental in the abolitionist movement.
Newspaper editorials prior to the Civil War. They were not against slavery, they were against losing their share of the profits. The entire Civil War started at Fort Sumter. Why, because slaves were coming in to Charleston? Hell no, because Charleston was refusing to pay tariffs. Yes, tariffs. And when they did that New York City was like, WTF, we ain't paying them either. The entire war was not about freeing those slaves, indicated by the Emancipation proclamation, freeing slaves only in areas the Union no longer controlled, indicated by Kentucky still allowed to have slaves, indicated by Lincoln's offer to Texas. Take a damn basic history course.
And yes, I get pretty riled up about this shit. Because here is the thing. Stupid Yankee ***** like you think the Civil War somehow absolves you from responsibility for slavery. It doesn't. We don't need reparations, we need you stupid shits to accept your own responsibility for slavery. Only then will we begin to heal.
Educate yourself you ******* Yankee prick.
