At present I'm not sure. I haven't been able to find out anything from that twitter post at all. It doesn't say where it is happening. Which means I can't find the context of the incident.
Certainly that once police officer, on the face of it, should face some kind of punishment, if not being kicked out of the force.
I just found this:
One of the officers appears to hit out at a girl as she lunges at him
www.lbc.co.uk
"Police have said the use of force during an incident where officers were filmed appearing to shove, hit and draw Tasers on a group of teenage girls was “proportionate, necessary and justified”."
That's the police's initial statement.
"It concluded there was “an opportunity for learning around de-escalation” but that “considering what happened before and during the clip, the use of force was proportionate, necessary and justified to keep all involved safe”."
So, clearly they're criticizing that one officer for being unable to de-escalate the incident, which is pretty obvious.
What we don't see is what happened before.
"The force went on to say: “The public’s trust and confidence in policing is dependent on openness and accountability."
Which is something you get in the UK and less likely to get in certain sections of the police in the US.
"“As such, while this incident did not meet the national criteria for independent assessment, we took the unprecedented step of requesting peer review from another police force. The review upheld the determination.”"
So, there's an investigation which will show a lot more than what happens in this video.
Look at what happened with the killing of Renee Good and that other guy. The "investigations" by the feds NEVER HAPPENED and they tried to stop the states or cities from doing their own independent reviews. All the while saying "We'll wait until the investigation is over" knowing there wouldn't be one.
