Wasting Money on What Would be the Food Chain.

"COLLEGE STATION, T.X. - A little calf with a lot of guts is bringing inspiration to the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M.

Hero the cow was found frozen in a field in Virginia last April. He lost two of his hooves due to frost bite but is now walking again after the college was able to give him some prosthetic legs.

Hero is the first large animal they have outfitted with two prosthetic legs.

"So he's been in these prosthetics since the first of the year and he's doing very well in them,” said Ashlee Watts, Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. “He's up and walking around, lays down, eats his hay, chews his cud, just like a normal cow."

Hero will be heading home from the hospital later this week."

Better that then in a few years slaughtering it for beef, than having done so now for a little veal. :)

Do you not understand that veterinary medicine often leads to human medical advances?
