Yes, it's not hard to hit a man sized target at 200 meters, but this escape thing seems sketchy, at least right now. I have an old k98 that was converted to 30-06 that I bought off a co worker back in 1974 for $75, which was a month's rent back then. It has a sporter stock (not checkered), turned down bolt handle, and a really good trigger and came with a 4-power scope. I could shoot just over a minute with it, so I don't doubt the shot was that hard. I'll see if I can dig it out for a picture, I haven't shot it in 25 years. There must have been thousands of these redone, like the Enfield's after the war. To shoot at a man like that and just walk away has me troubled some.
