Seven global warming alarmist setbacks in 2013 | The Daily Caller

In honor of the 17th year without global warming, The Daily Caller News Foundation has put together seven setbacks for global warming alarmism.

7) The Senate testimony of Dr. Roger Pielke of the University of Colorado completely undercut environmentalists and Democrats trying to claim that global warming was causing “extreme weather.”
“It is misleading and just plain incorrect to claim that disasters associated with hurricanes, tornadoes, floods or droughts have increased on climate timescales either in the United States or globally,” Pielke said. “It is further incorrect to associate the increasing costs of disasters with the emission of greenhouse gases.”
The other witnesses on the panel did not refute Pielke’s data.

There's NO COOLING and even if you take the "graphical" giss and noaa data sets it would appear it isn't warming much at all.

But to say it is cooling is a lie.
There's twice as much ice this year on the polar cap and has been shown on another thread by a northern climate scientist.

Global warming became a worldwide battle cry of leftists around the world, but here's what another climate scientist thought, which is point #6 at the above link:

6) The United Nations climate bureaucracy’s latest global warming report was called “hilarious” by a leading scientist from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Richard Lindzen said the UN’s report “has truly sunk to level of hilarious incoherence” because they continue to proclaim with ever greater certainty that mankind is causing global warming, despite their models continually being wrong.
“Their excuse for the absence of warming over the past 17 years is that the heat is hiding in the deep ocean,” Lindzen said. “However, this is simply an admission that the models fail to simulate the exchanges of heat between the surface layers and the deeper oceans.”

Becky is completely right.. There's no cooling in the surface temperatures because ------

((wait for it))

The cooling is Hiding in the newest additions to polar ice !!!!!

Yeah --- that's the ticket !!!! Hidden Cold at the poles..

If the warmers are right we should be seeing .25-.3c/decade for a time coming up.
If the warmers were right -- we'd have BEEN SEEING that for the past 17 years instead of 0.04degC/decade..
You got a lot of catching up to do..

Global Analysis - November 2013 | State of the Climate | National Climatic Data Center (NCDC)

Global Highlights

The combined average temperature over global land and ocean surfaces for November 2013 was record highest for the 134-year period of record, at 0.78°C (1.40°F) above the 20th century average of 12.9°C (55.2°F).
The global land surface temperature was 1.43°C (2.57°F) above the 20th century average of 5.9°C (42.6°F), the second highest for November on record, behind 2010. For the global oceans, the November average sea surface temperature was 0.54°C (0.97°F) above the 20th century average of 15.8°C (60.4°F), tying with 2009 as the third highest for November.
The combined global land and ocean average surface temperature for the September–November period was 0.68°C (1.22°F) above the 20th century average of 14.0°C (57.1°F), the second warmest such period on record, behind only 2005.
The September–November worldwide land surface temperature was 1.08°C (1.94°F) above the 20th century average, the third warmest such period on record. The global ocean surface temperature for the same period was 0.52°C (0.94°F) above the 20th century average, tying with 2009 and 2012 as the fourth warmest September–November on record.
The combined global land and ocean average surface temperature for the year-to-date (January–November) was 0.62°C (1.12°F) above the 20th century average of 14.0°C (57.2°F), tying with 2002 as the fourth warmest such period on record.

Now it would be better were we leveling off. But a bunch of yapping ignoramouses stating that we are does not make it so. And the Arctic sea ice minimum this year was less than any Arctic sea ice minimum prior to 2006.

LOL!!! Who's the head of NOAA, and who's his boss? Who's the head of NCDC, and who's his boss? Ever heard of the chain of command giving a specific goal to an underling and achieving it?

NOAA and NCDC are political entities, guys. Guess again, please.

They're just pissed because "independents" use one or two measurements of the temperature of water that is close to freezing under one hundred meters of ice, and possibly several points below Celsius zero above at the poles.

Politicians don't have to play fair to support Al Gore's lies. BTW, Al Gore no longer can speak to any school children in the UK on account of over 500 "inaccuracies" found in reading materials he gave in which to brainwash children and their teachers in the day. When you're playing politics with the facts, it's a blight on the scientific community, the same as shilling for funds with "scientists" making claims based on omitted data from a thousand years of data to "prove" that global warming was true. False!!! And guess what party in America still supports Al Gore after all these years! So to the Democrat "must prove warming trend 'data' to buy scientists in our pocket to keep beating up conservatives," crowd I have only three word sfor you:

Good try though, for lining up those armored cars at Ft. Knox to keep emptying the good stuff to buy votes and accolades from high class paid-for shills. Us taxpayers are getting very wise to you!!

Funny thing here. We "warmists" would be standing and cheering were the climate to start a long term cooling trend. We do not like the way the climate is going at present. The increased frequency of extreme weather events and their costs in lives and assets are not something any sane person enjoys seeing. But even with a decreased TSI and a series of La Nina's, we are still warming.

Differance between us and the denialists, is that we accept data from real scientists, not from obese junkies and undegreed ex-TV weathermen, or fake English Lords. The data is simple. All over the world in both hemispheres, the glaciers are receding, rapidly receding. The Arctic Ocean is losing it's cap of ice, and warming to the point we are seeing some pretty impressive CH4 emissions. Both the Greenland and Anarctic Ice caps are losing ice by the gigaton, and the oceans are measurebly rising from that loss.

GHGs absorb energy that is reflected and re-radiated from the earth. Were this not so, the oceans would be frozen down to the equator. This was established by John Tyndall in 1858, and has been confirmed, and the absorption spectra of these gases refined, many times since then. If one addes more GHGs to the atmosphere, it will absorb more energy, and become warmer. Simple physics that the denialists attempt to deny.

Egad, why don't you just declare an 80 IQ so we can at least pity you?

So, every Scientific Society, every National Academy of Science, and every major University is in on a conspiracy to lie to us about what we see happening. Need extra money for aluminum foil for your little tin hats?

This type of idiocy by people like is nearly unbelievable. Why do you insist on parroting the lies and misinformation of idiots when you can go out and have a look at Glacier National Park, or the North Cascades glaciers? Do you think that the people in China, Russia, Europe, and the US that download the photos from the satellites are all in on a conspiracy? If so, for what?

Its you guys that are still pulling these records from the over manipulated and GUARDED 20,000 thermometer surface records.. Becki is correct as usual here. Since the satellite data no longer produces records like that for the high priesthood. USED TO BE better agreement between satellite and earth stations.. Yoou dont suppose that something POLITICAL changed that.

We should bring back slide rules so that MORE FUDGING can occur.....

Huge holes in the surface station data. Almost no coverage of the poles and an eighth of Africa and the oceans, but yet we have thousands of analysts baking the books and ignoring 21st century technology...Makes sense.. You NEED those records to continue.. DONTCHA?
