Wyoming Becomes First State to Outlaw the Use of Pills for Abortion

Wyoming on Friday became the first state to ban the use of pills for abortion, adding momentum to a growing push by conservative states and anti-abortion groups to target medication abortion, the method now used in a majority of pregnancy terminations in the United States.

What is a medical abortion?

A medical abortion (or medication abortion) is a procedure in which medication (prescription drugs) is used to end a pregnancy. It does not require surgery and is performed through the ninth week of pregnancy. It involves taking two medications — mifepristone and misoprostol. Mifepristone works by blocking the hormone progesterone. Without progesterone, the pregnancy cannot continue to grow in the uterus. Misoprostol causes cramping and bleeding to empty the uterus.

type of abortion can be done as soon as pregnancy begins up until around nine weeks of pregnancy

The most common medical abortions are:

  • Mifepristone and misoprostol (oral): You will take mifepristone with your healthcare provider or once you are home. Then, you will take misoprostol 24 to 48 hours later at home.
  • Mifepristone (oral) and misoprostol (vaginal, buccal or sublingual): This is the same medication, except the misoprostol is taken through the vagina or dissolved in the cheek or under the tongue. It is also taken within 24 to 48 hours of the first medication.

Well if that don't beat all.

You can include in medical expenses the amount you pay for birth control pills prescribed by a doctor

You can include in medical expenses the cost of a legal sterilization (a legally performed operation to make a person unable to have children). Also see Vasectomy, later.

If that's what the voters elected their chosen representatives to do? That must be what they want.

If you don't live in Wyoming?

. . . well? I guess it is none of yoar bidness.

There are all kinds of whores in Wyoming.
Might be. You think there are enough of them to vote in enough representatives and Senators to overturn this law?

Now, I would agree with you, the next step would be outlawing birth control pills, but that? Does not technically "end the life," of a fetus.

So I doubt they will do this.

So, these folks will probably just be responsible, or get married.

I don't know why you want to force this state to be like yours, why?

:dunno:
