Walz future in doubt after accidental war plan leak

Walz is not friends with Goldberg and does not have his number in his phone intentionally.....meaning someone maliciously subbed Goldberg's number under someone else's name.

As the Atlantic walks back all allegations over an editor desperate to remain relevant due to his numerous hoaxes.

This was a terrible breach of nation security. I cannot think of anything as abhorrent...than perhaps leaving classified documents laying around a bathroom floor. Wait, the is another case entirely. That guy is now running the whole show, right? It looks like in this case, the fall guy is going to be Walz.

A senior administration official told POLITICO on Monday afternoon that they are involved in multiple text threads with other administration staffers on what to do with Waltz, following the bombshell report that the top aide inadvertently included Atlantic editor in chief Jeffrey Goldberg in a private chat discussing a military strike on Houthis.

“Half of them saying he’s never going to survive or shouldn’t survive,” said the official, who like others was granted anonymity to discuss internal deliberation. And two high-level White House aides have floated the idea that Waltz should resign in order to prevent the president from being put in a “bad position.”
Whiskey Pete is the one that needs to resign

Spin all you want. Our European allies (former it seems) cannot trust this regime. But Poootin loves their incompetence. He probably read the war plans before Goldberg.

What does Walz have to do with it? He's already got enough of his own problems since he's got a big mouth and is a loser. He did Kamala no favors and God knows she needed them.

Boy, I bet he hung a good one on after this screw up hit the news!

Pete was probably drunk.

On Wednesday, The Atlantic published the messages in the Signal group chat that Goldberg inadvertently gained access to. The messages show Hegseth sending details about the Yemen attack, including the strike’s specific timeline and the weapons used, ahead of it being carried out.

Goldberg directly refuted Hegseth’s Monday comments in an interview that night with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins.

“That’s a lie. He was texting war plans,” Goldberg told Collins. “He was texting attack plans. When targets were going to be targeted; how they were going to be targeted; who was at the targets; when the next sequence of attacks was happening.”

Now we know how Walz was duped by having the wrong number put as someone else's name....

It was a coordinated attack by Democrat party operatives.

We don't care what your country thinks about us here in America jimboliar. You hate us and the feeling is fairly mutual.

We will find out. Your MAGA spin is loyal, but very weak.

Actually, there wasn't a leak, the press was invited to join.

Such is the incompetence and stupidity of the Trump WH.

But MAGA is trying to spin this screwup as some kind of conspiracy. Please, they screw something up and and they cannot admit their mistake. It is the old Roy Cohn MO...deny, lie, delay, and attack. Then repeat.....

If I were Trump, I would order them to stop using Signal, as it is now a clear target for hacking groups around the world! :(

👉 The circumstances surrounding Jeffrey Goldberg's inclusion in the "Houthi PC small group" Signal chat remain somewhat unclear. However, it is reported that National Security Adviser Michael Waltz or a staffer managing his Signal account may have inadvertently added Goldberg to the group chat12. The exact mechanism of how this occurred is not fully detailed, but it appears to have been an error rather than a deliberate action.

Goldberg himself noted that he received a connection request from a user named Michael Waltz on Signal, which he accepted, believing it was the actual national security adviser reaching out to discuss significant issues2. This suggests that there might have been confusion or a miscommunication that led to Goldberg being added to the sensitive group chat.

Despite the White House confirming that Goldberg's inclusion was "inadvertent," the precise details of how the mistake happened have not been fully disclosed24. The incident has raised questions about the use of commercial messaging apps for sensitive government communications and the potential for similar errors in the future.

Joe is the standard bearer. He got the whole 4 term and even a doctor to say he could not be charged for treason and other felonies. Almost 4 years of denials. How could you get away with it? All of the Prog media/entertainers/politicians/elites looked the other way. I am certain you remember. And he showed this before the election. Joe did not resign. He was President. There were other leaders though as we all know. Unelected ones running the show. And people suffered for it. The good things you have down taken down by the not so good things. Yeah, Joe is the Mendoza line. He was historical in that sense. Not just American but human history. He was like royalty in that regard. Kings. Lifetime dictators. Perhaps he could have left on better terms.

trump used his familiar strategy to ward off criticism of their stupid mistake, He attacks, attacks, attacks. It is an old Roy Cohn lesson that he learned. Of course his attacks are peppered with lies, misinformation, and denials. What did we expect from a convicted Felon (34).

Trump has privately expressed frustration about the incident, people familiar with his thinking said, but he has made a strategic decision to paper over his annoyance and cede no ground in public. Instead, he has attacked the credibility of the Atlantic magazine and its editor in chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, long a target of Trump’s ire. And he has played down concerns from former administration officials, Democrats and some Republicans that the episode exposed serious national security vulnerabilities.

“It’s all a witch hunt,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on Wednesday. “There was no harm done because the attack was unbelievably successful,” he added. “And that’s the thing that you should be talking about.”

The circle-the-wagons strategy is the same one Trump has used in past moments of crisis, dating back to his days as a real-estate developer in New York: Keep the fire aimed at the media, deny wrongdoing and raise questions about the validity of the allegations.
