I'm always amazed that the people who know global warming is wrong know nothing about climate, weather, or for that matter much else; it seems today stupidity is a virtue in America.

There's a scientific explanation for melting ice caps. It is NOT global warming, rather shifting ocean currents. Of course knowing that would require scientists to be truthful with us on what effects what. Basing a model on manipulated data, that data being destroyed so no one can reinterpret it, bullying others who would publish their data and findings and in general lying is not science by the way.

We are losing the alpine glaciers, the Greenland and Antarctic ice caps are melting at an accelerating rate, and the permafrost in Siberia is thawing deeper every year by 1 3/4 inchs. In just the top 10 feet of the permafrost in Siberal and North America there is more carbon than is currently in our atmosphere.

Yes, there is a scientific explanation for the melting. We have added almost 40% more CO2 to the atmosphere.

Deny the source and impose a standard like EVERY scientist must agree. Here's a thought, not every scientist agrees with global warming, in fact, an increasing number reject it and a fair number think we are headed for global cooling. It makes much more sense for you to hide behind scientists that destroy data, lied and defrauded us.

And which Scientific Societies has changed their stance on AGW? Which National Academies of Science? Which major university?

Don't be a twat. They didn't destroy the data around the world. As I said, ideologues should leave this alone, they fuck up everything they touch.

Educate yourself. The original data is gone and can't be reconstructed. The scientists who did it admited they did it. The manipulated data is still out there, but of course it will lead you to a global warming conclusion, because that is what it is supposed to do. Volcanoes, El Nino, sunspots and a slight wobble of the axis cause climate change. People are part of the CO2 cycle for plants. Breathe slower.

You are the one that needs some education. The glaciers are still melting. Since 1998, we have had the ten warmest years on record.

Ravi, they have to retrieve all the raw data which is time consuming and costly. Then the data was manipulated. This newly created data is not reproduceable, unless UEA provides the method they used to do this. To date, they are not willing. Finally, why the coverup? Unless there is fraud. That would have meaning and not be "made up" and prove a great deal actually.

You keep yapping. Now post a link to a credible source that backs this claim. Come on, I have posted many, many sites to support my views, why cannot you come up with just one site for yours?

And in the other thousands of universities around the world? In the thousands of scientific establishments in the world? They're busy destroying and manipulating data and thus all the science on global climate change is now reduced to junk status?

How many points do you want to lose on in one day? There are not thousands of universities working on climate issues. There are actually only a few that are/were considered leaders. Yes, it appears much of it is junk at this point. Proving it one way or the other is going to take some time. In the interim, millions will be spent to confirm or deny. All because a few thought they had the answer and used science as a veil for their trickery.

Points? Lose? I don't see it that way so it doesn't bother me, I just like to get into discussions and bat ideas around. As for this issue, if there has been skullduggery among the scientists then they richly deserve to be hauled over the coals. But I'll wait until I get a clearer picture.
