Didn't the democrats here in Virginia run on and get elected because of "Mah Affordability"?

How are democrats in Virginia not outraged? Is "Trump Bad" > Mah Affordability?

Here are some of the proposed tax changes (at least the ones I know about) so far:

Additional local sales tax in all Virginia counties and cities

New personal property tax on electric leaf blowers and electric landscaping equipment

Large employer tax

Gun and ammunition tax

$500 suppressor tax

New income tax brackets

Delivery tax, which would hit Amazon, Uber Eats, FedEx, and UPS orders in Northern Virginia

Investment income tax

Event tax

Storage facility tax

Gym membership tax

Dog walking tax

Dog grooming tax

Counseling tax

Digital personal property tax

New car taxes and highway use fees

Increase in the hotel tax in Arlington

Statewide speed cameras (not a tax, but more fines for drivers and revenue)

Vehicle repair tax

Home repair tax

Dry cleaning tax

Rideshare tax

Fantasy sports tax

Now I don't know if all will pass but the dems are running the show so I'd not be surprised.

Add to that the very people who voted the dems in are going to be the ones hit by the bulk of the proposed new taxes.....Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

But only on the wealthy. People wealthy enough to take their clothes to the dry cleaner for example.

I don't know for sure but I bet there's more dry cleaners in NOtVA than most places.

As of May 5, 2025, there are 744 dry cleaners in Virginia, which includes Northern Virginia. This number reflects a slight increase from previous years, indicating a growing demand for dry cleaning services in the region.

By the look of the map for Dry Cleaners in NOtVA it looks like the bulk of them are there.
