Long time coming but justice was finally served.

Jens Hadler got over four years.

Former Volkswagen executives were hit with prison sentences on Monday for orchestrating a scheme to cheat vehicle emissions tests — a yearslong deception discovered a decade ago that cost the German auto giant more than $30 billion.

Totally wrong, and the US is forcing an EPA scam on the rest of the world.

VW simply added a timed routine to their CPU that heated up the diesel exhaust in order to burn carbon off the particulate filter.
When they ran that, they discovered the fuel economy increased by 30%.
Which means that there were LESS carbon emissions.
But there were MORE NOx emissions.
However, NOx is actually a fraud, is not harmful, and breaks down in hours.
It is only carbon emissions that are harmful, and they essentially never break down unless consumed by plants.
So they then legally and ethically started running the heating routine everytime you went over 60 mph.
Which is perfectly legal, safe, and clean.

And by way, it had nothing to do with mileage.
It was a about VW diesels getting 50 mpg, when they were supposed to only be able to get 33 mpg.

Diesels during this period got nowhere near 50. I had one. I was doing good in normal driving to be in the mid 30's.

You can be welcomed back for illegally entering the U.S. but you can go to federal prison for trying to avoid crazy federal emissions mandates? WTF happened?

They had ACRES of these cars that were illegal to drive because of the emissions crap. Brand new cars.
