Or at the very least, lift you out of poverty. But first, let me start out with this. When Ross Perot was running against Bill Clinton, he knew what Clinton had in mind with his NAFTA bullshit. Which of course many republicans were also on board with. Ross Perot said that if that happened, you would hear "A huge sucking sound" as jobs left the U.S. And that's EXACTLY what happened! And how the business interests profited!
I don't know what it was back then, but today the average Chinese worker makes around $3.60 per hour. The average American worker makes around $28.16 per hour. Now, did the goods sold in the U.S. from places like China all of a sudden become incredibly cheap? Not from what I remember. So where did all that money go? Into the pockets of big business. And now Trump is trying to tell us that the wealthy need MORE money! And doing things like cutting over a trillion dollars from things like Medicare, Medicaid and Food Stamps alone.
I have a better idea. (Use the scare word "socialist" if you are depraved enough to) To start out, I was reading that it would cost around 168 billion a year to lift the poor in this country out of poverty. If we had just a 2% tax on the wealthy, the revenue that would generate each year is around 3.12 TRILLION! That is about 18.5 times more than what it would cost to lift every poor American out of poverty each year. With enough left over to make a serious dent in the National Debt besides.
Now I know there are many Trumptard cultists out there who prefer the "**** the poor" approach. But even they should be in favor of a strong economy. Do you know what happens when the poor have money? They spend it. Do you know what happens when people spend money? The economy improves! Who can be against that.
