It suggests that viruses might be essential to evolution. That viruses can pass on genetic information from one species to another so that they evolve.

Potentially the coronavirus is going to evolve humans over time, taking things bats have and giving them to us.

It also suggests the reproduction existed because of viruses, without viruses we'd never have been able to reproduce (nor anything else.
