Yes, the wannabe Democrat AG in Virginia, who wished death on opponents and on their children, also did this.
Oh, and his community service was rather shaky.
Jay Jones was convicted of reckless driving for going 116 mph on I-64 in New Kent County in 2022. But he avoided jail time by doing half of his 1,000 hours of community service at his own political action committee out of his house, and not a nonprofit, which did not meet Virginia’s definition of community service and contravened standard judicial practice. Plus it directly benefited Jones’s own political network, raising conflict-of-interest and ethics concerns.
This raises questions about his judgment, whether he upholds laws or expects special treatment, which is particularly relevant for someone running to be Virginia’s top law enforcement officer.
