However, we do not know the details yet. Was this man assaulted before getting into his car and ramming over people? In that case - yes. A mob of people assaulting you legally justifies you to respond with lethal force.

We need to wait for the clear, full details before passing judgement.

There are several important points here (the most important of which being #3):

1. If this man simply rammed his car into these people out of anger - he should go to prison for the rest of his life. Absolutely inexcusable.

2. If this man was assaulted and/or feared for his life - he should absolutely be acquitted of all charges. Now, based on the video, that does not appear to be the case as there seemed to be side streets he could have turned down to escape.

3. Terry McAuffie, the Mayor of Charlottesville, the police chief, and other government officials should be brought up on serious charges. Those protesting the removal of statues had a permit for their rally. The government had a duty to honor their right to protest and to protect them while they protested. When the hate-filled fascist progressives showed up, law enforcement should have told them to leave and arrested anyone who didn't. Shutting down the protest was a major violation of the protester's right to peaceably assemble and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Their rights were violated in a major way. They went through the proper process. They didn't just assemble spontaneously as an unruly mob. They got a permit - giving the local government time to plan, time to make the proper arrangements for traffic, etc. The protesters did everything right and the government subjected them to violence and then shut them down simply because they disagreed with their view.

. Disagree with any justification to leave a point where one might have been assalted, and to then go and get in a car and mow people over because of it. He had a cool down period once escaped the mob (if was the case), and because of this period he will be charged with premeditated murder. You cannot return to the scene, and exact vengence like that. It's what the law is for. He should have sought the law immediately, and pointed out who assalted him.
