My experience is that law enforcement never ever underplay crime figures.Been over this, already a thread on it. Crime isn’t going down, crime reporting to the fbi is incomplete due to a new database. Like 40% of the police agencies are not reporting data to the fbi.
Also, it’s estimated that a bunch of crimes go unreported due to people of believing anything will ever be done about it.
