nope----the civil war was not about slavery. It was a war based on economics. I don't know of any poll conducted in the USA at any time as to support vs non-support of slavery amongst christian americans. At that time (ie civil war
era) slavery existed and was supported as such in the majority of the "christian world" -----by christian leaders and clergy and law.----including Canon (roman catholic) Law.
