Vermont approves single payer plan

Ah.... the future is now...
If only this were true for the whole country....
Dems shed a tear of happiness.
Next on the horizon is free housing for all....

If only ...if only...

Some people did not have coverage... not good...
Obama and the democrats want to fix that... good so far....

The result... fuck with everyone else that had it...

Mission accomplished.

No more private practice doctors? Then no doctors at all.

If it works for them, good. It's one state and they can do what they want.

I hope all the mexicans run to Vermont. The southwest needs the relief.

Of course Vt. approved it.

The program will be fully operational by 2017, and will be funded through Medicare, Medicaid, federal money for the ACA given to Vermont, and a slight increase in taxes. In exchange, there will be no more premiums, deductibles, copay’s, hospital bills or anything else aimed at making insurance companies a profit. Further, all hospitals and healthcare providers will now be nonprofit.

Yup. I'm sure Doctors, nurses and hospitals will love working for nothing.

Will have to wait and see how this all plays out.

Vermont will just become innundated with people looking for free medical care, then Vermont will say that it's unfair and single payer should be nationwide.

It's like the no-smoking laws. Some cities declared themselves smoke free in restaurants and bars. The customers went to neighboring cities. The business owners said these laws must be statewide. That's how no smoking laws became state laws.

The single-payer is what the socialists in office have wanted all along. They know the kids won't pay for something they don't want or need and here's why:

New ad indicates the Affordable Care Act may not appear so 'affordable' to disillusioned, poor young people who would rather pay a penalty.

Those doctors who stay will simply become salaried doctors working for the government. That's the whole point of single payer. All medical personnel will become employees of the state.

Eventually everyone will become employees of the state.

I wonder if those living in Vermont will have to show a state provided ID to get these new medical benefits.

Is I have said before, the end goal of liberals/progressives is to turn America into a state controlled workers paradise like N. Korea. ...

what is happening is a return to the old company store concept. with the government as the company

Guess what the best Doctors living in Vermont will do...give you three guesses...first two don't count.

Wow...

This system will provide an instant boost the state economy. On the one side, you have workers that no longer have to worry about paying medical costs or a monthly premium and are able to use that money for other things. On the other side, you have the burden of paying insurance taken off of the employers side, who will be able to use the saved money to provide a better wage and/or reinvest in their company through updated infrastructure and added jobs. It is a win-win solution.

Such logic boggles the mind. HC is being paid for through higher taxes, meaning all that money saved is being taxed. Making all HC providers and hospitals non profit will nean an exodus from the sate in hospitals and health care providers....... meaning the state will have to run it all..........cooooosting more in taxes.

Poor poeple from all around the nation will flood to the state with "free HC" while anyone that pays taxes will be running as fast as they can.

It says "Everyone in, no one out" so it's doubtful that there will be any ID required.

Ohhhh, if only the mexicans left California to run off to Vermont! It would be a dream come true.
