Jesse Ventura loses appeal to reinstate $1.8M verdict in defamation case

The U.S. Supreme Court has turned away former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura’s bid to reinstate a $1.8 million verdict in his defamation case against the estate of slain Navy SEAL and “American Sniper” author Chris Kyle.

The justices didn’t comment Monday in leaving intact a decision by the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to upend the 2014 verdict.

Kyle’s autobiography was the basis for the 2014 film “American Sniper.”

Ventura, a former SEAL, took issue with Kyle’s claim that he punched Ventura at a California bar in 2006 over offensive comments about the SEALs.

The funny thing about all the lies put on Jesse there was never even a police report filed on this case.
2. The wife would not have paid out a dime , the insurance company pays out , when the LYING MSM once again made it all sound like he was making her pay put of her pocket. C'mon now you've all fell for MSM LIES again.

The event never happened, Ventura has never met Kyle, and the whole story is a transparent hoax seemingly designed as an attempt at character assassination given Ventura’s very public recent battles with the federal government, in particular his fight with the TSA, and his vehement anti-war stance, Tyrel told us after talking with his father.

Ventura explained that he has only ever visited the bar in question with groups of friends, and the notion that the story if true would not have already become public in the space of over five years is plainly ludicrous.

Ventura labels the story a total fabrication and is beyond heartbroken that a fellow service member and Navy SEAL would invent such outrageous lies .......................

Close friend Alex Jones points out that Ventura was “veering towards riding off into the sunset for good,” but that such attacks on his character could force the former Governor to re-emerge as a prominent force on the US political scene. Jones said that the smear has completely backfired because it will only make Ventura become more public and be more aggressive in asserting his anti-war, pro-freedom principles.

The whole reason the 8th Circuit overturned the case was because it was NOT established that there was any insurance policy that would cover the costs. The court ruled that Ventura's lawyers brought up the idea of the insurance policy in order to sway the jury into thinking the impersonal insurance company not the widow would have to pay but did not present any evidence that this was true.

But the most important question to my mind is why has Carl Weathers never become a governor? He was in Predator.

What insurance company ? What police report?

This was a defamation claim based on statements in Chris Kyle's book. Ventura sued for proceeds ftom the sale of the book. No insurance company and certainly no police report.

One of those ex-SEALs is Ventura’s former instructor, the widely respected Terry “Mother” Moy, owner of the bar where the incident is alleged to have occurred.

After investigating the incident, Moy and his fellow SEALs confirmed that the event never took place and that Kyle had invented it to generate publicity for his book.

An added reason for their support of Ventura is the fact that they are sick of seeing Navy SEALs stab each other in the back for profit, the former Governor of Minnesota told Infowars.

Shortly after the controversy erupted at the beginning of the year, Ventura told Infowars that he thought the story may have been concocted for the additional reason of discrediting him politically because of his vehement support for Ron Paul and his crusade against the TSA.
