Yep. My father used to go to Cuba to check the Esso refinery. I was in Charleston during the crisis. Since Chas had a submarine base people were terrified the Soviets would bomb us. The whole thing was bungled.
Most everything in Cuba was bungled. I was in pre school in 59 and in 3rd grade crawling under my desk with my classmates in October 62 because some idiot parked a bunch of nukes 90 miles from the US.

Even the food/medicine restrictions against American companies exporting products there were lifted over 20 years ago.
