Good catch! It could be that it's sending a message or it could be that the crisis situation is under control. It would mean that the Zionists aren't going to escalate against Iran to a point at which America's military will be necessary.

And here's a wild card possibility: It's not really going home and the big time fireworks are about to start, that will include Russia and China?

The thing is, the Zionist regime isn't going to give up on their land grab. Not yet at least.

Yes, that crossed my mind, some of these advanced missiles could probably destroy an aircraft carrier, impossible to defend against - I wonder...If the US lost an aircraft carrier it would be bad for the democrats as we approach an election!

Yeah, but maybe not 'destroy', but put holes in the flight deck so that nothing can get off.
I can't really speculate with any accuracy in the last week or so, due to my sources being more involved with the Ukraine's rout from the Kursk, and the Ukraine losing 1500 to 2500 soldiers daily.

Although I have little doubt now that the two wars are obviously now one.

There's a high possibility that it was there to handle the blowback from Russia when the Kursk invasion brought a reaction against a Nato country. The Ukraine invested it's very best into that invasion.

Now it's turned out to be a trap set by Russia with the Ukraine losing over 13,000 soldiers and massive amounts of US equipment.

It, or another one will return if the circumstances on long range missiles demand it. Then the question of air craft carriers being sitting ducks, will have to be considered again.

Aircraft Carriers are formidable but hypersonic weapons are a game changer, if carriers are lost then the US will be hugely hampered, all of their military escapades recently from Iraq, to Yugoslavia and now Palestine, hinge on carriers.

The carriers value drops sharply when they cannot be defended as easily as they have been in the past.

No, I'm not sure it was a trap set by Russia, but the theory seems to work the best. Ritter, MacGregor, Sachs, and co. point out that Russia was happy to leave Ukrainian forces be until Russia was ready, and then kill them all. It's developing that way now.
And the Ukraine pouring all their best into Kursk, enabled Russia to concentrate on the important fronts and make big gains.

I don't know enough to say for sure? I would think that if Russia has any doubts, they would launch a few dozen Kinzhals all at once on a carrier. Still, would any of them make it through?
