Not even an original thought. He stole that meme from a series of Hillary Campaign ads. Mirrors are useful. But if you really shined a light on the division, hatred and spew coming from the Left in order to win with a seriously damaged candidate, it would chill you to the bones.
Republicans inflicted that damage on Clinton with 25 years of lies, investigations, and attacks. For 25 years Republicans have been calling Clinton a lying corrupt politician, and have spent $100 million dollars and wasted years of legislative time and energy pursuing Mrs. Clinton and her husband.
After 16 separate investigations, the hiring of a Special Prosecutor, and an investigation by the FBI, you still have not one single charge against her. Not one single witness turned States' evidence, despite immunity being granted to anyone who ever worked for her, no evidence with which to lay charges, and a bunch of books, funded by Republican Dark Money which purports to show their illegal schemes, but even the authors admit they have no evidence whatsoever, that it just "looks bad".
Despite 25 years of the right wing media calling Hillary Clinton everything but a white woman, Republicans pretty much succeeded in destroying Hillary's reputation, but then they sent out the orange outrage to run against her.
The media has to be against Trump, if they truly are doing their job. It's the job of the media to warn the country of impending danger, and Trump is just that. The man doesn't have the intelligence or the temper to run the country. He can't even prepare or maintain focus for a 90 minute debate without becoming unhinged and forgetting what he was supposed to be doing.
And he refuses to repudiate the darkest elements of the American electorate - the KKK, the American Nazi Party, and the other alt-right pro-white hate groups, who have coming running to his dog-whistle call of Making America Great Again.
I've watched his campaign from the beginning, fascinated. At first the press gave him all kinds of free media, because he was "entertaining", and they knew he couldn't go far with his foot in mouth disease. But as the campaign grew, as the disaffected came out of the woodwork to vote, the media was actually complicit in his rise. They ignored the messages of the other candidates, and promoted the loud funny guy, who was basically a billionaire Archie Bunker.
When Trump kept on winning, they started looking at his candidacy seriously, and for a while they bent over backwards to be "fair" to Trump. To keep their reporting balanced between the two, but quite frankly, as Trump revealed himself on the campaign trail, it turned out that everything that his worst detractors said about him was true.
At that point, people of character in the media decided that in all good conscience, they could not remain neutral in this election, or continue to pretend that they thought Donald Trump was anything but an ill-informed, lying, racist, misogynist, con man.
Trump has died a thousand deaths by HIS OWN WORDS. They're not being taken out of context, or twisted. He really did say and do these things. And then he bragged about it.
That his own words are coming back to haunt him is not an accident. The media does have a responsibility to vet the man, and this is what they've come up with.
Good on them.
