Last night talking to my son, I said - "this will end. Only the rich are allowed to manipulate markets like this... they will find a reason to stop it".

And they did... using the now well used excuse to shutdown social media - Redditt WallStreetBets was removed by Discord, and Reddit set it private stating the now familiar "due to discriminatory speech".
Now, it is back up. But all bets are it will happen again, and eventually taken down.

Yes. But, keep in mind that a lot of pension funds invest in these hedge funds. Right or wrong, those pensions go out to a lot of average people. This online protest could have the effect of hurting the little guys that they claim to champion.
The big funds will always have their parachutes. The people who's pensions are underneath these funds...have no such parachute. Just something to keep in mind.

Melvin Capital lost BIG. And had to take a $2.75 Bn bailout to remain solvent.
Rich people got caught and fucked by Reddit investors.
That is making a LOT of people very-very-very nervous.

Quite a few people yesterday, had life-changing runs when they broke the short on Gamestop, AMC and one other, which I can't remember the name of right now.

What is funny is that the media started screaming that the "little guy" was going to get screwed, but in reality, it was the huge investment houses that have billions of dollars under management that got caught with their hands in the cookie jar. The normal investor -- one who is vested into a 401k -- didn't really suffer anything at all and any real setback will be recovered in weeks.

Many are correct, however; in that, the big guns won't take that kind of hit again. Already, the political money is flowing into Democrat coffers so that the game can be changed.
