Islam exists because different people at different points in history, have tackled metaphysical questions in different ways.
Your not a "Christian" (I use the term in its loosest sense) because you've searched for meaning and examined different theologies and cultures. You are a christian for no other reason than it was the prevailing belief system within the community you were raised in.
You are no different to orthodox Jews or Muslims, all of those people for the most part adopted their beliefs subliminally from their community and all of those people insist that only their beliefs are valid, you're all the same.
