I was in Newtown, CT at an Irish bar.
Next to me was an Hungarian, he said the U.S.A was akin to Communists.
He said in this country, like the Communists they control, and take from the top, and that they make for equality, and cheaply made products to cut corners to maximize the power from the top.
Do you agree?
As a general Fascist believer, yes I actually do think that Capitalism is becoming like Communism, even if they're supposed to be complete opposites.
You should come on over to paleoconservatism and drop the
Fascism. We've got some great shallow Nationalism going on over on this side. These days people enjoy one thing more than labelling others: that's fantasizing how to do all manner of unspeakable things to fascists--real or imagined.
As for the Commie USA thing? Not even close. I can run out of work like . . . now . . . hop in my truck and drive coast to coast. Guess how many times I'll have to show my papers--if I don't get pulled over for speeding? Zero. I can shout out how much I despise any Democrat radicalized Leftist from atop the Manhattan Bridge, and they'll arrest me, but not for the shouting part or the contents of the shout. I won't get hauled away to the Gulags we don't have either.
So, we have freedom? Otherwise we're basically suckered in by the elites?
The freedom to hire Mexicans, the freedom to outsource jobs to China, the freedom to peddle Porn, the freedom for Gays to get married, the freedom for Hospitals to perform abortions for profit, the freedom to promote Liberal values in Media, and Hollywood.
How does Individualism - Capitalism become a "Friend" of Socially Conservative values, rather than an "Enemy"???
I don't care for any of those things you listed in your first paragraph either. That said, I tend to view these things on a how they effect me and my family and job kind of level--which your second paragraph does speak to, I admit.
What I believe in is individual freedom; what I dream of is absolute freedom to build a log cabin in the Northwest Territories and delete my family and self from civilization. But then I think about how with absolute freedom, my neighbors could gang up on me after forming a war party and take whatever they like from us, minus the ones I can "get" first.
So individual freedom is a balance--a give and take--and in America, it is living in a fishbowl owned by deity like rich guys. Do I like that? No. Is our fishbowl better than any other on the Planet? Yes, I believe so.
