Trump doesn't want Zelensky to sign the (fake) "deal", that's pretty obvious. If he did sign then Trump would have to defend Ukraine in some way and Putin will not be happy with Trump.

The real worry here is that the US is powerless to stop Trump's lawless coup, he has no authority to block aid already approved by congress, that's far more worrying to Americans. He's doing what ever he wants, he's now a dictator, the country is doomed.
