Not really. The number one reason that India and other similar countries are overpopulated it because they many times don't have other things to do at night other than sex.
Best way to stop that is give them something other than sex to entertain themselves with.
Often times folks who don't have a book or a television use sex to get to sleep faster.

It's like that in most popular areas. My neighbor had a beautiful little winter house in St. Pete Florida, built in the 50's, it was built from a particular pine tree native to Florida that had developed ways to withstand hurricanes over generations (the tree is now extinct due to over harvesting), very solidly built, much different than today, and she knew what was going to happen when she put it on the market. She had a bidding war for it and got $40K more than asking price.

In less than a week the dozer and excavator were knocking this house down. She already knew a McMansion would be forthcoming. New York hedge funds should be barred from makingl these type of purchases, they destroy the character of neighborhoods, make buying homes unaffordable by raising prices, and are the driving force behind the housing crisis of affordability. (She said she sold hers to a couple)

The hedge funds have no skin in the game, and are literally buying up every home on the market in targeted neighborhoods. Local governments have to say no, but want the tax revenue.

I don't know about hedge funds but it's the local realtors going directly to the developers and making an offer before the property is even listed.

I had a realtor try that shit with me (developer offer) and I asked if she was going to lower her commission since she did not have to list it....No she said so I said list it and I got 15K more (over her commission cost) that way.

The whole real estate market is nothing but a bunch of damn crooks from top to bottom.

I have no issues with regulating capitalism as long as you are consistent about thinking that way. As much as you are worried about land and traffic being abused by unregulated capitalism you should see what it is doing to worker wages and healthcare. Its a disaster.

Back then about 96% of the population was born in the USA and most men could financially support their family. Now less than 86% were born here and most mothers have to get a job to make ends meet.
