America doesn’t have a history of white supremacy. Just the Democrats do.
Point out the Republicans

"Two blood-splattered Freedom Riders, John Lewis and James Zwerg, stand together after segregationists attacked them in the early 1960s in Montgomery, Ala. Lewis, then a young civil rights activist, would later become a member of Congress from Georgia."

White Supremacist Ideas Have Historical Roots In U.S. Christianity

Richard Nixon was the one that really desegregated Southern Schools. You give him credit for that, or is this just something you pretend to care about?

So why does the US spend more than anyone else? There are a couple of reasons.
The US spends more on "defense" than anyone else because it's the only country on the planet with 800 bases in 70 foreign states; it's about financing a domestic balance of payments deficit by killing innocent civilians on the other side of the globe:

Dollar Recycling | Michael Hudson

"My book 'Super Imperialism' was about how the United States has gained a free lunch by establishing the dollar as international reserve currency by replacing gold.

"I also showed that the U.S. balance of payments deficit is almost entirely military related to support its 800 bases around the world.

"Ending the gold-exchange standard in 1971 created a situation in which the excess U.S. dollars thrown off by the U.S. payments deficit end up in foreign central banks."

We have had to torment them, like reluctant bulls in a bullfight

No, we didn't. If anything we have hindered their aggressive nature.
I'm sorry your blind patriotism blinds you to how your country kills foreign civilians to finance its domestic deficit:

Dollar Recycling | Michael Hudson

"That is how the U.S. balance of payments deficit serves to finance the domestic government budget deficit.

"The larger the U.S. balance of payments deficit grows as the U.S. spends more militarily and politically around the world, the more foreign central banks end up financing the domestic budget deficit.

"That frees the United States Treasury from having to balance its budget to avoid having to borrow from US investors.

"More and more of the U.S. federal debt has been owed to foreign central banks.

"That means that foreign countries are, in effect, financing the costs of surrounding them(selves) with the 800 U.S. military bases.

"This enables the United States to make military threats, in case they cannot conquer you intellectually by making you follow the University of Chicago and IMF financialization policy."

Indeed. Stalin himself, couldn't have said it better. So when to the show trials start, so you can execute those you don't like?
Show trials have been used in the US longer than you and I have been alive. Perhaps your side can bring back lynching?

Which country poses the greatest threat to global peace?
Who gets rich from that?

The US Military Has Its Knee on the Throat of the World
by ELLEN TAYLOR"

"As Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, observed, 'The character of war is changing frequency'.

"The messy, scrappy, unsatisfying, asymmetrical wars in the devastated Middle East have lost the interest of our warriors, as two worthier adversaries, China and Russia, have been conjured up, and now grip their attention.

"Although our budget comprises over 40% of the world’s military spending, and China and Russia spend respectively one-sixth and one-tenth of ours, the Pentagon refers to them generously as “near-peers”.;)

"China and Russia are not eager for these roles.

"We have had to torment them, like reluctant bulls in a bullfight.

"We sail our warships within twelve miles of their shores, conducting vast military exercises in the South China Sea, the Black Sea, the Persian Gulf and the Japan Sea.

"Thousands of US troops marched across Europe this spring to perform military exercises along Russia’s borders.

"Arleigh-Burke class guided missile destroyers, with aerial escort, performed maneuvers this May, close to the Russian coast in the Barents Sea, to enforce 'freedom of navigation'".

Time to defund the Pentagon?
Let me remind you that it is the RUSSIANS who have performed the largest military exercises in terms of number of troops on the continent of Europe over the past 3 decades. It is the RUSSIANS who illegally, invaded Ukraine and annexed the Crimea province. This the first illegal invasion and annexation of countries territory in Europe since ADOLF HITLER did it in World War II. It is the RUSSIANS the fly dangerously close to U.S. and NATO aircraft and ships risking accidents. It is the RUSSIANS, who have interfered in the Democratic elections of multiple NATO countries as well as the United States Presidential Election of 2016. It is the RUSSIANS, that have used cyber warfare to shut down electrical power systems and the internet in NATO countries like Estonia and Latvia. It is the RUSSIANS that have illegally boarded and captured Ukrainian Navy personal in the Black Sea. It is the RUSSIANS, that have recently fielded a brand new Main Battle Tank, Infantry Fighting Vehicle, Howitzer Artillery system, Multiple Rocket Launch System. The United States has not field a brand new Tank, Infantry Fighting Vehicle, Howitzer Artillery system, and Multiple Rocket Launch System since the 1980s. It is the RUSSIANS that are in a position, due to their greater ground combat strength near Estonia and Latvia, to overrun both countries in less than 72 hours. The RUSSIANS have the worlds 5th largest military in terms of number of troops, the largest inventory of Tanks, the largest inventory of Infantry Fighting Vehicles, the largest inventory of Artillery Systems, the largest inventory of Air-Defense Anti-Aircraft Systems, TIED with the United States for the largest number of nuclear warheads in the world, The 2nd largest Air Force in the world, one of the largest navies on the planet.

The spending levels you site are irrelevant. Its not how much you SPEND, but the actual raw military capability you have in terms of numbers of troops and equipment as well as the quality and performance of those troops and equipment.

X amount of money spent on the military does NOT EQUAL X amount of military capability.

NATO lost its excuse for existing when the Warsaw Pact disappeared. Russia was invaded three times during the last century by European and US forces, so it seems reasonable they would be suspicious of foreign forces operating near their borders.

Your examples of Russians flying dangerously close to foreign planes sound suspiciously like another instance of US sending its forces thousands of miles from its homeland to commit provocative acts and then WHINE about it when their victims respond.

Can COVID-19 take down NATO?

The US spends 11 times as much on"defense" as Russia in spite of the fact it hasn't been invaded since 1812.

The Pentagon spends 69 times more than the EPA. Guess which one Trump wants to cut.

There are ways to look at our military hegemony. Do we withdrawal from many bases? If so, do we lose our financial prowess over others? And what does that do to us?

So, where were you when Bill Clinton was expanding NATO?

Always the fault of the US, never of the Communist countries we were fighting and their USSR/ChiCom backers.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/opin...merican-wars/2011/12/05/gIQALCO4eP_story.html

"The major wars the United States has fought since the surrender of Japan in 1945 — in Korea, Indochina, Iraq and Afghanistan — have produced colossal carnage.

"For most of them, we do not have an accurate sense of how many people died, but a conservative estimate is at least 6 million civilians and soldiers."

Korea, Indochina, Iraq, and Afghanistan collectively could not threaten the US homeland. Those "wars" were fought solely for financial gain, and that's the prime reason the latter two continue to this day.

North Korea is some innocent little country? They invaded first.
In 1950, five years after the US military occupied southern Korea and forcibly prevented free elections in 1945:

People's Republic of Korea - Wikipedia

"The People's Republic of Korea (PRK) was a short-lived provisional government that was organized at the time of the surrender of the Empire of Japan at the end of World War II..."

"The program of the PRK was presented in its 14 September twenty-seven point program.

"The program included: "the confiscation without compensation of lands held by the Japanese and collaborators; free distribution of that land to the peasants; rent limits on the non-redistributed land;'

"'nationalization of such major industries as mining, transportation, banking, and communication; state supervision of small and mid-sized companies; …'

"'guaranteed basic human rights and freedoms, including those of speech, press, assembly, and faith; universal suffrage to adults over the age of eighteen;'

"'equality for women; labor law reforms including an eight-hour day, a minimum wage, and prohibition of child labor; and 'establishment of close relations with the United States, USSR, England [sic], and China, and positive opposition to any foreign influences interfering with the domestic affairs of the state.'"

You think China doesnt want to rule the world? :cuckoo:
I KNOW China doesn't currently have over 800 military bases in more than 70 countries. I KNOW China has not killed millions of innocent civilians on the opposite side of the planet since 1945.

US military bases – geographical imaginations
Greatest Purveyor of Violence in the World Today?
It's not China.
..you are a dumbfuck...learn some history

So, you hoped for it, but were you willing to support any efforts made in that direction?

Answer: no, not if it meant giving support to Trump.
Trump's support for Russia had everything to do with concealing decades of money laundering and absolutely nothing to do with peace; once he is out of office the evidence of his crimes will be there for anyone who cares to look. Will you?
