The saddest aspect of this, is observing so many Americans cheering for it or not caring at all. So distracted, lazy, apathetic, scared. It's a real tragedy.

It’s preposterous that the US government purports to tell Americans what they are allowed to read on social media, says Daniel McAdams, executive director of Ron Paul Institute. He adds that it undermines US democracy.

Technology and social media giants Facebook, Twitter, and Google have been in the hot seat before US Congress intelligence committees. They were grilled on day two of hearings into alleged Russian interference in the presidential election in 2016. Lawyers for Twitter, Google, and Facebook testified that the amount of Russian-linked content on their platforms was insignificant.

So it WAS insignificant. The Dems would have had you believe they were blowing up all platforms with it.

What’s preposterous is the ridiculous lie that the US government seeks to tell Americans what they are allowed to read on social media; ‘the government’ is advocating no such thing.

Wrong.

It’s perfectly appropriate and warranted that Congress investigate Russian interference in the 2016 General Election, and likely interference in future elections.

Such investigations are well within the purview of Congress, having nothing to do with ‘telling’ Americans what to read on social media.

As for the Ron Paul Institute, it’s nothing but a purveyor of inane lies and conspiracy theories.

It is happening. And more Americans should be outraged over it.
