US Economy turns in weakest growth to date.

Total Non-Farm Labor employment is the benchmark used by the BLS and virtually all economists. And has been for decades. And we clearly have more folks working today than we did 6 years ago. Or at any time in the history of our country:

If you have data from the BLS that contradict this, feel free to show us. But this graphic is from the BLS as of this morning.

Should we tell this dingbat that CNSnews was formerly called CONSERVATIVE news service?....Nahhhh!!

(BTW, CNS actually even rejected Karl Rove as a "true conservative", go figure.)
Rove is a Neocon... he's no conservative.
Never, ever wonder what the "con" in "neocon" stands for???
Probably not!!! Thinking on your own must be such a chore.

(If I called someone a neofascist...does that mean that he's not a fascist with "modernity"?)

The failed Republican Congress trashes the economy in the first quarter since they took over

Yes Democrat policies deliver failure 100% of the time. The usual suspects will be trotted out, weather, kiosks, George Bush, but the truth is we have Euro style regulation and taxation so we get Eurostyle economies with high unemployment and slow growth. 0.2% growth is not going to cut it.
U.S. Economy Stalls in the First Quarter - Yahoo Finance
The world’s largest economy sputtered to a near-halt in the first quarter, choked by slumping U.S. business investment and exports.

Gross domestic product, the volume of all goods and services produced, rose at a 0.2 percent annualized rate after advancing 2.2 percent the prior quarter, Commerce Department data showed Wednesday in Washington. The median forecast of 86 economists surveyed by Bloomberg called for a 1 percent gain. Consumer spending, the biggest part of the economy, rose 1.9 percent, a little better than projected

Didn't we have 'Euro style regulation' last year when we had the strongest economic growth in 4 years? If your reasoning were correct, we'd see the same results in any quarter where your 'cause' existed. Yet we don't. Clearly there are other factors in play.

The most likely reasons for the Q1 results are an unusually strong dollar, west coast port strikes, and the worst winter in a generation in the north east. All of these issues are known to have a negative impact on economic growth.

Why would anyone looking for the actual causes of Q1 results ignore them?

The weather and port strikes are temporary (except for the Western drought) and should have little lasting effect. The strong dollar has legs however in its lasting effect on the economy. This is because first of all, there is a lag between changes in the exchange rate and changes in consumer and business behavior. For example, the strong dollar makes imports cheaper to Americans, but what's on the shelves today was purchased some time ago and it takes time for prices to adjust all through the supply chain.

AT the time the article was written, it was accurate.

Your chart shows app 5 million more people working than at the start of the Lying Cocksuckers term. Which I doubt. But let's go with that anyway just for a base of argument

Ten Million people have entered the work force during that same time period.

And you call that a success?

Spin all you want but you do yourself a favor...... Get used to a Republican President, a Republican Congress and a Republican Supreme Court.

We're going to serve it up to you on a platter covered in shit.....

Then force you to eat it.

Here's why. We're tired of lying motherfuckers

Fact Checking Obama s Jobs Claims in State of the Union

Obama touted the fact that unemployment has fallen to 5.6 percent. That’s good news. But he neglected to mention the fact that the proportion of Americans with jobs has changed little over his presidency. The vast majority of the improving unemployment picture comes from Americans dropping out of the labor force and no longer looking for work. In part that has to do with demographics—the ageing of the baby boomers means more retirees and thus fewer workers. But demographics only explain one-quarter of the drop in labor force participation. For many workers the economy offers less opportunity than it did before the recession. The official unemployment figures hide that fact.

Keep in mind that, when the government "economists" announce the Growth Rate for the economy, they always come back six months or a year later, and revise it.... downward.

Every time.

I don't think 'every time' or 'always' means what you think it means.

Gross domestic product expanded at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5% in the three months ended Sept. 30, higher than the 3.9% previously estimated, the Commerce Department said Tuesday. The reading was the government's third and final estimate.

U.S. economic growth surges past estimates in Q3

And the quarter before that, the same thing happened. The estimates rose.

On Friday, the Bureau of Economic Analysis released its third estimate of real gross domestic product for the second quarter of 2014 — covering April, May and June of this year. The release showed output in the U.S. increasing at an annual rate of 4.6%. This is relative to the first quarter when real GDP declined a sharp 2.1%.

The revision is up from BEA’s 4.2% second estimate released last month as well as its 4% advance estimate out in July.

U.S. GDP Grew 4.6 In Second Quarter 2014 Up From Earlier Estimates

So last year alone 2 estimates were found to be higher. 2 were found to be lower. Simply obliterating your entire narrative.

Keep in mind that you don't actually know what you're talking about.

What laws dd the GOP pass an Obama sign that caused this slowdown? BE specific.

You obviously don't understand the dyanamics of the failed Republican Congress

The mere presence of Republicans in control of our Legislative branch causes a panic among the business community. Who wants to invest in a climate of Republican Control? Who would dare to expand their business knowing the Republicans may bring it crashing around you?

I predicted the Republican Congress would lead us back into recession and now you see it

lol. dems own this economy.

maybe they should. Republicans couldn't run a ten cent whorehouse with a roll of quarters.
So the fact that the econmy under the Dems has sucked mean the GOP cant do anything right/ RE YOU ON DRUGS?

Nope. It wasn't. Again, the standard used by everyone from the BLS to Investopedia is Total Non-Farm Payroll. And in January of 2008 the numbers were 138,365,000. While in January 2014 the numbers were 137,642,000.

http://data.bls.gov/pdq/SurveyOutputServlet?request_action=wh&graph_name=CE_cesbref1

That's a difference of 723,000 jobs. Not 1.1 million. And we crossed into all time highs for employment in April of last year. Which you'd know if you weren't using 'Conservative News Service'. Your stats are not only uselessly outdated, they're also inaccurate.

And as you just admitted, we're at all time employment highs today.

Your chart shows app 5 million more people working than at the start of the Lying Cocksuckers term. Which I doubt. But let's go with that anyway just for a base of argument

And your doubt has what relevance to this issue? 'My' chart comes directly from the BLS. The BLS is your supposed source in the CNS article. You can't cite and ignore the same source on the same topic.

Well I suppose you could. But it would be hard to take you seriously.

Wait Arent you always saying that big business owns the GOP? So business is panicking because the GOP, which they support and own, is in control of the legislature? Business is worried the GOP will enact laws that business wants so they are panicking?
Are you on drugs?
