Drug overdose deaths in the United States fell by more than 20% last year, according to the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, amid President Donald Trump's crackdown on the country's porous borders.

"The fall begins at the end of the Biden administration, but the question is, was it in anticipation of a tough-on-crime president coming in?" said Joseph Giacalone, a retired NYPD sergeant and adjunct criminal justice professor at Penn State Lehigh Valley.

According to the data, which looked at deaths through August 2025, they were on the rise going into Trump's first term but remained largely flat, then they spiked and plateaued when President Joe Biden took office.

Don't tell the TDS libtards. They'll infiltrate your thread and start circlejerking each other in your face because they hate you and want you dead.

Many of those deaths are owing to fentanyl, or whatever powerful narcotic being put into some far less potent meds that many people buy online form various sources. Sure some happen because fentanyl is put into heroin or cocaines, but many aren't.

Counterfeit Pills: Traffickers produce fake pills designed to look identical to legitimate prescription medications, such as Percocet, Xanax, or Adderall, often using social media for sales.
Lethal Contamination: The DEA has found that 6 out of 10 fake prescription pills analyzed contain a potentially lethal dose (at least 2 milligrams) of fentanyl.

If you think that addicts can't still get what they need. You don't know addicts.

The point must have sailed way over your head. Drugs are cut with fentanyl making them deadly. During Biden's term more than 400,000 Americans are dead because of fentanyl mixed with other drugs, like cocaine, or oxy, or any other illicit drug.

In 2025 there were about 50,000 deaths, if that trend continues Trump will save more than 200,000 US lives.

I am not informed on this matter, but I was under the impression that the effects of fentanyl are opposite of those of cocaine. I guess it would produce the same effect as speed balling--which is what claimed the life of John Belushi.

Let the junkies od. **** yeah, no more junkies. The USA needs more Heisenberg style meth labs. Good old Made in USA.
No "tariffs" of course.

The War on drugs is a failure, let these junkies kill themselves with drugs.

No argument on what you say. However, I don't want this poison brought into the country where these junkies can leave it laying around in public where our tender-age children and grandchildren might get their hands on them.

You dipshit. Deaths plummeted by 27% in 2024. They sky rocketed under Trump and fell under Biden. Trump wasnt president in 2024.
