If I was having a baby and I didn't like my gifts at least I wouldn't say it aloud and in front of my friend or family member humiliating them like that. I'd still be polite and thank them anyways for it as I could always exchange it later in private. Just like with any other gift I've gotten that I haven't liked or found any use for.
