All of you calling for armed teachers in the classroom need to ask yourselves what kind of country needs such a thing and what does that look like to people abroad?

Both your questions are irrelevant. Our country needs it. Do you think dead children is better than armed teachers? And what difference does the opinion of any other country make? Who cares how it looks to them. We're not them and they're not us.

So you're saying that 25% of teachers do want to be armed? How much do you think that would change the outcomes of school shootings? If the shooters believed that 25% of teachers were armed, most would never go into a school. When they did, most would die much earlier in the killings. When an armed teacher sees that the choice is to shoot to kill the intruder or watch children die and to die themselves, they'll shoot. They have nothing to lose.

Israel is surrounded by enemy nations and fanatics who would literally wipe them off the map if given the opportunity. As a result, they live in a constant security state. That's how you want to live? Tell me how "Land of the Free" coincides with armed guards at schools and teachers packing heat. Do they do this in the UK? France? Germany? Australia? Aren't we supposed to be better than them? Aren't we supposed to be the quintessential example of freedom for the world?

So instead of arming teachers or any other real deterrent, let's stick our heads in the sand and pretend the shooter's not there. That way we'll look so good to other nations who will also pretend the shooting didn't happen and will only see that our teachers are unarmed and our schools are wide open places of freedom and access.

Yes, there's a bigger problem. Can you solve the bigger problem in a month? In a month we could train every teacher that wishes to carry at school. Until we deal with the root problem of leftism and the effects it has on young people, arming teachers and locking down schools are the best solutions we have.

There is no police inherent to government. Government comes in its creation without police. Just like we might hire someone to mow our lawn, we hire a police force to do the labor of our protection. Were we all wealthy, we might all have private police protecting us as do the very powerful and the very wealthy, until then, we hire our security by joining together to fund a shared security force.

Hiring police to protect us does not eliminate our right to protect ourselves any more than hiring a gardener eliminates our right to mow our own lawn.

What has happened in our country is that the government has turned our police into their enforcement branch rather than our protectors. That leaves us with only ourselves to protect ourselves.

And here we have the true problem we're facing in America today, undiagnosed and untreated mental illness, sometimes caused by things we make our armed forces suffer before turning them loose into society. Technology has advanced to the point where a single person can, using commonly available items and ingredients, manufacture devices of great destructive power. Trying to focus only on eliminating guns from society when bombs are relatively easy to make and poison is readily available will not in any meaningful way reduce the number of people being killed, and in fact will increase them as fewer guns are made available for defense.

Undiagnosed and untreated mental illness is not the root cause. The root cause is what's causing the mental illness. The root cause is the left. We tell children that the world is terrible, the nation is terrible, and that, if they're white, they're terrible. We tell them that their parents are evil, that even if they have boy parts they're not a boy, and if they have girl parts, they're not a girl.

Confusion and instability are what the socialists and communists are bringing in order to destroy the family and the American way of life. The cause of mental illness is Democrats.
