‘The undocumented immigrant population in the United States reached 14 million in 2023, the highest level on record, after increasing by 3.5 million over two years, but the immigrant population overall has begun to shrink.

The new estimate from the nonpartisan Pew Research Center, released Thursday, is a marked increase in previous figures of around 11 million attached to the undocumented population, but researchers have found that it has begun falling as President Donald Trump implements his hard-line immigration agenda.

"The other big takeaway is that, at least as of '23, a very large share of this unauthorized immigrant population, over 40 percent, actually had legal statuses that protected them from immediate deportation," Jeff Passel, senior demographer at Pew Research Center, told Newsweek ahead of the report's release.

"They had mostly temporary statuses, but they did have legal statuses that meant they could stay in the country and a lot of them had permission to work legally."’

“…a very large share of this unauthorized immigrant population, over 40 percent, actually had legal statuses…they did have legal statuses that meant they could stay in the country and a lot of them had permission to work legally."

The Trump regime’s immigration agenda was never about ‘removing criminals,’ it was about removing black and brown people – immigrants lawfully in the country – motivated by racism, bigotry, and hate.

Believe what you want but every country has the right to determine who can become a citizen and preservation of the county's culture and history.

So you're saying it's only black and brown people emigrating from their home country that they created and fleeing from? Why didn't they create a great lifestyle in their home country?

jones do you mean illegals?...

He doesn't really MEAN anything.

To lefties like him, words are just shit they throw against a wall to see what sticks.

you can prove that, when you fact check or even challenge a point made by a dem.

They never understand what you are doing. They get confused adn wander off.

THe idea that their words would be taken serious and the IDEAS they represent would be seriously discussed, is beyond them.

You don’t need to sell us on Trump. This is what we voted for.

There are 55 million immigrants on work visas here. 55 million. More than the population of 25 states.

Meanwhile our own college grads can’t find a job. People can’t find affordable housing.

The insanity must stop.

Why is “Overall” Immigration even a category? Your premise is highly misleading and manipulative. If illegal Immigration plummets and the “overall” number drops, how is that tied to black and brown racism? Also, most of the world is non-white so that means most immigration- illegal and legal - is going to be non white; or black and brown.
