Do your numbers mean the Oklahoma City hospital made almost 59 million in 2014? It looks like their income is improving.I understand the difference, do you understand what a charity is, specifically a Catholic Charity Hospital or health care facility?Aren't they a Catholic charity system of hospitals that spent almost 300 million in charity care? How does a non profit charity hospital make a profit when one of their main functions is to give away free care to people in need? It appears the numbers you are providing do not include the charitable donations that are used to cover the loss's you are listing. Overall, the system seems to be doing fine as it continues to expand it's facilities and services. You are right. I didn't get them all.You listed 6 facilities. What about the other 24 in that system? Are they making money?

I am sorry I just don't have the time to find the rest. You were right though! I should have kept going!
Sorry...
The data is only for hospitals.
Mercy includes 35 acute care hospitals, four heart hospitals, two children’s hospitals, three rehab hospitals and two orthopedic hospitals, nearly 700 clinic and outpatient facilities, 40,000 co-workers and more than 2,000 Mercy Clinic physicians in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. Mercy also has outreach ministries in Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.

I copied directly from the sources.
NON-Profit doesn't mean they can't have RESERVES!!! Which is what profits generate.
NON-Profit means they pay NO taxes on the profits.
Understand the difference???
The sources you are using do not address the points or questions I have suggested. They are not meant to address them. They simple give numbers related to funds spent vs funds collected for services. The link I provided does not reflect the overall loss you are implying. I am suggesting that other funds, specifically charitable donations, covered the loss you are showing. Mercy has been in operation long enough to probably be pretty good at projecting allowable charitable expenses from hospital to hospital, facility to facility according to available donated funds.

Pay attention to the chart at the bottom of the page. It shows the discounts people get. Even people making middle class incomes receive huge discounts.
The article used in the OP is a suckers article. You can not possibly view all the additional links provided and not realize it is distorted in multiple ways to give an erroneous conclusion.
That "CHART" shows "DISCOUNTS"! Meaning the hospitals don't get as much revenue from those patients that qualify under Federal Poverty Level guidelines.
Which means the hospitals don't receive as much revenue from Federal Poverty Level patients as they would from NON-Federal Poverty Level patients.
That clarify the situation?
Bottom line...
