Detroit was a model US city but when liberal unions got control of the auto companies through ridiculous contracts and the liberal politicians were busy "spreading the wealth" around the city putting Detroit in a financial crisis....the party came to an end, but they couldn't blame the GOP since no GOP mayor has been in charge since the 1960s.

According to writer Jerome Corsi, the U.N. Human Rights Council’s office in Geneva has confirmed that the United Nations is planning to intervene in the ongoing water situation in Detroit, calling it a violation of international law.

Apparently the UN is threatening to intervene in Detroit and force it's inhabitants to be provided water even if they don't or can't pay for it.

Detroit is a microcosm of the liberal path. Destroy the city and hope for a federal and/or international takeover.

Why are Americans unable to afford water in the first place? The articles say that nearly half of Detroit's 300k+ water accounts are past due, with balances averaging $150 or more. GM profited billions by killing Americans. GM can use their blood money to pay off all of the delinquent water accounts in Detroit as the start of their penance for making money off of killing Americans.

Why are all of you blaming poor people because rich people sucked up all of the money to themselves while killing poor people? Why are all of you okay with an American corporation killing Americans for profit?

The ideological underpinnings of the U.N. today causes the main motivating factor of the institution to be wealth redistribution on a global level. There are 180 or so states in the world that are U.N. Members. Most of them are poverty stricken shit holes with despotic governments. These third world members have pretty much ceded their sovereignty to the U.N. because they have nothing to lose.

The U.N. provides these shit hole states a platform where they are on equal footing with the wealthy western states. But for this platform these shit states would languish in poverty and obscurity.

Enter a claim for "social justice" (a scam perpetrated by the have nots) by these hell hole states claiming that the west (I.e., America) have usurped resources from the world, accumulated too much wealth (based upon the false assumption that wealth is a finite resource), and are generally bad people due to historical colonialism (which, in reality, was incredibly limited in scope as to all western states - it is far too costly to maintain colonies around the world). This is all, of course, grand horse shit. It is, however, an ideology used to ramp up anti-west sentiment around the world.

Unfortunately, there are also people in our own country who buy into this bullshit. Mostly of it is inconsequential. You just get some anti-capitalist tripe from a few unemployable, young, pot smoking douche bags. I have seen them on this site. They parrot bullshit they read. But they are harmless and not worth a shit.

GM did not profit "by killing Americans". First off, I do not think that GM has made much of a profit at all for a number of years to amount to much. Secondly, there is always a cost-benefit analysis when it comes to product liability cases. If that offends your delicate sensibilities, then fine. However, if the price of your Chevy Cobalt increases $2-3,000.00, or more, because of the increased cost to make it both fool proof and as safe as possible, then you will be crying foul again because you cannot afford one.

Yes, GM may have let it slide a bit on safety concerns in this one, isolated incident. They will pay for it in the form of civil liability and harm to the brand. Well, actually we will pay for it, as equity holders. However, they most certainly were not profiting from the act of people dying. You are being terribly misleading here and you are libeling the company, which is a pretty despicable thing in itself and is something that demonstrates poor character on your part.

Grow up. This whole idea of punishing the wealthy is juvenile. There is no group of fat-cat white males sitting in a room lighting fine cigars with burning $100 bills while laughing at poor people. The company is owned by shareholders and managed by a Board of Directors who owe a fiduciary duty to those shareholders to maximize the value of their shares. The executives work for the Board. Individuals own shares, their 401(k) plans includes ownership of shares, people own funds that includes equity ownership, and in the case of GM, the American taxpayer has an equity ownership in the company. It is a publicly-owned company heavily regulated on many levels by the federal government.

In America, wealth redistribution is seen in the following:

Income taxes

Capital gains taxes (which is an income tax)

The 3.8% ACA surcharge tax on capital gains earnings in excess of $250,000.00

The benefits packages paid to employees as a result of the ACA and collective barraging agreements

The ad valorem taxes assessed by state and local governments

The matching Social Security and Medicare matching contributions that must be paid by employers

The compliance costs related to federal regulations

The fines and fees imposed by federal regulatory agencies

Unemployment tax contributions

The carbon emissions tax

Numerous federal and state highway taxes and usage fees required for distribution (trucking)

Excise taxes and tariffs

Now, when your commerce crosses international borders you have all of these expenses and taxes in each country. Plus, there are other taxes imposed upon foreign countries conducting business inside of countries. In some countries you have individual income tax rates that dwarf those in America. In addition, there is additional risk in conducting business overseas, including political risk.

Further, you have the leftist-socialist-anarchist assholes calling for redistribution. This international push is resulting in increased risk (meaning increased costs). There is slander, strikes, and violence spawning from this ideological rhetoric. Wealth is constantly being drained from the wealth creators all over the world, and the rate of loss is expanding as economies are faltering.

Don't be an asshole. Open your eyes. Maybe divert some of your income from buying weed and buy a book or two and educate yourself.
