The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has denounced comments by Richard Falk, a top official on the United Nations Human Rights Council, which attempted to explain the Boston Marathon bombings as a reaction to United States policy in the Middle East and Tel Aviv.

Mr. Falk, the United Nations Human Rights Council-appointed “Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967,” wrote on Foreignpolicyjournal.com that, “…As long as Tel Aviv has the compliant ear of the American political establishment, those who wish for peace and justice in the world should not rest easy.” He also implied that the Boston terror attack was a justified response to U.S. policies in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq.

shall we dispense with the discussion and proceed directly to the name calling?

just kidding.

i am not sure exactly what richard falk said, but he may have a very valid point (and not condoning the bombings, but trying to understand them).

why in the world do you think mideastern people and/or muslims, whish is a predominantly mideastern religion, attack the USA. surely, it must have something to do with our support of the jewish state?

richard falk is a educated and highly respected scholar and a professor emeritus at princeton university. i don't think he has anything to gain by his opinion. he may, in fact, as a citisen of the USA, have something to lose.

abe foxman gets paid a lot and has become somewhat notorious in some circles for making spurious claims of anti-semitism directed at those who make strictly political statements about israel.

thanks, roudy. i actually spell well but i have a bad keyboard and i had my hands broken as a child in beal feirste. they were smashed pretty bad...they still bother me. it was one of those deals where they ask you to say the lords prayer. i always go with "our father, WHO..." and not "our father WHICH..." and before you know it, you got a kid on the ground being stomped on by teenagers who never learned not to be defiant but knew that 'the bird" is a universal language. then the little hands feel the might of prod doc martens.

"citisen" is right. sometimes i go back and forth from american spelling to english depending upon where i was when i learned the spelling. you missed a few punctuation errors as well, but that is neither here nor there. i went back and cleaaned it up. again though, my compliments on your spelling acumen.

but thanks, bud. i'll try to be more careful.

you are absolutely right, but he was not presenting facts, he was offering an opinion and, unlike abe foxman, it was not paid for. foxman's opinions are salaried.

personally, while i would not be as extreme as he was, i do think he makes a very valid point in that the USA's support of israel and the wars we were and are engaged in in the region has a lot to do with why we are being attacked.

There are always those, even those who are Jewish like Falk, who have no problem blaming the Jews or the U.S. for the problems wherever an atrocity happens. I think the bottom line is that too many young Muslim men around the world are becoming too radicalized and feel that they have to carry out something for the "glory of Islam." You can see from this story how one of the brothers was constantly studying the Koran, and in parts of Russia (and even in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africe) these young men start following those who are leaders in the radical movement instead of the more peaceful Sufi movement. There are parts of the Muslim world where no Americans or Israelis are involved, and you still see the killings going on.

LOL...well, i certainly could come up with a better type of slur given the fact that the canadian jew, toastman went with the irish drunk stereotype.

LOL...i suppose i could go with the stereotypical pugilistic nature of an irishman and the decidedly lack of a backbone by jews, as proven by the fact that the glove fighter you seem most proud of was a two bit irish catholic pug named max baer who did what...held the title for a fight? y'all were kissing that man's behind so much while all the paddies were rolling in the aisle with laughter. pathetic. and then ya go and stick him in the jewish boxing hall of fame...too funny.

there...are ya happy now, mah brutha?

Nope, "it was written in their Koran, that all nations which had not acknowledged the Prophet were sinners, whom it was the right and duty of the faithful to plunder and enslave; and that every mussulman who was slain in this warfare was sure to go to paradise." ~Ambassador Sidi Haji Abdrahaman(1785)

were i a young muslim reading nmessage boards like this, or suffering in other ways from similar sentiments epressed here, i don't really think i would need a koran to radicalise me.

people like you, with your blatant bigotry, do more to radicalise muslims than any iman ever could and unless we get a grip and stop running off to shoot up sikh temples and accusing rachel ray of being a terrorist for wearing a black and white scarf and displaying our sheer ignorance for all the islamic world to see, we are going to continue to be in trouble.

christ, bush's couple of "crusade" speeches immediately after 9-11 pissed me off. can you imagine how some young muslim kid felt. scared, i am sure, among other things. and do you think a muslim is going to turn in a "great satin" preaching cleric who knows how to influence people to the cop down the street who called him a raghead just the week before.

all you see is this kid in dagestan. nbhe learned what he learned long before he got there about americans right here. he was radicalised here. all the cleric in dagestan did was give the anger some force.

all i am saying is if you want to beat the enemy, you aren't going to do so by delivering to him willing young soldiers. if you want to beat the enemy, and an enemy that potentiially outnumbers us five to one, you better understand him. you better be able to be in his mind, to think his thoughts, fears and cares.he is no savage animal. he is another human being, and he wants to kill you, in part because you want to kill him.

right now, he knows us far better than we know him.

why don't you all think about that.

Watch as the AIPAC crowd does its number on him. How dare he question why Muslims hate America and its wayward policies?
